He chose me the minute he saw me. It was wild. It took me watching him jump to be intrigued. Perhaps I was more realistic. We lived 2000 miles apart. But he thought it would work and it did.

He makes life easy. Even when it’s really hard. He’s always the calmest in the room. His answer is always yes to any adventure. He’s quietly confident in a way I’ve never seen anyone else be. He’s driven and ambitions. He’s also care free and relaxed. He won’t let me give up on myself. He would do anything for me. I supposed I would do anything for him too. I think we got it right.

Stef dreamed up a 5 figure wish list with a shoe string budget and after laughing in disbelief Scott somehow found Nate, hidden away in someone’s pasture a few months later. All of her wishes. He never truly seemed real to me I suppose. He was perfect. What a privilege it was for us to be the ones that got to look after him for 17 of his years. I don’t believe I could ever truly articulate how pure and special his soul was or how deeply he was adored by all of us. But I know he knew it. He loved us too. A true once in a life time horse. He was classy in every way. Stef and him in horsemanship will always be one of my favourite memories. And man if you could keep him together for a western riding class he was magic. She shared him with me sometimes and I always cherished those moments. I didn’t know what a good horse was until he showed me. I will always love the flow of showmanship because of him. He’s been retired for a decade but even 2 days ago he was sharp, he never pushed on you or got lazy. Always right there, always a teammate.

He brought me immeasurable comfort and joy. Im going to miss caring for him and the way his eyes sparkled. My heart is broken but filled with gratitude that we were the ones who got to be his and that he left knowing how much we needed him to stay.

The first few days of our trip getting lost in Sydney with our friend @danepuxty. What a treat it is to see another corner of the world. Sydney is a stunning city but truthfully it’s when we left that we really fell in love with Australia, because we are country girls and the wild there is truly WILD. So many more photos to come.
