What started with just half a dozen artists has grown into a space representing over four dozen local creatives with hundreds having been in rotation.

Five years ago, The Annex was supposed to be a one-month pop-up at 60 Bank Street. Now they’re known to be a true hub for the New London creative community.

Stop by, support local, and see what makes The Annex such a vital part of downtown at their five year anniversary celebration!

We're still reeling from last weekend's trip to Wonderland!
Thanks to all who came to visit the Kingdom of Hearts and helped us lower creative barriers in New London.

Send us your best Goth Prom pics...and see you next year!

…to the Kingdom of Wonderland🐰

Special thanks to @spark_makers, to the volunteers who put all of this together, and to @socialnewlondon

To Casey, my White Rabbit who kept me on time, and to Ebbe, the Maddest, hardest working Hatter, who throws the best parties… I love you both, dearly.

Goth Prom 2025 was one of my favorites. See you all next year💀

At Expressiones, we believe in the power of collaboration to build community through art. Our partnership with Spark Makerspace is a beautiful example of how shared spaces and shared values can open doors for creativity, learning, and connection.
We are deeply grateful to Spark—and to Casey —for welcoming our artists-in-residence with open arms and generous support. Together, we are creating bridges between cultures, fostering artistic growth, and enriching New London with vibrant voices from Latin America.
This message from María Vargas, one of our current artists-in-residence, reflects the spirit of this collaboration: gratitude, creativity, and the beginning of something greater. "I would like to personally thank Spark for offering me their space to learn and create new things. Special thanks to Casey and Val for their patience and willingness to help me produce these objects, which are the beginning of a larger personal project."
— María Vargas"
