Labor Day weekend was supposed to just be about celebrating Chase turning 40; an entire weekend built around him, surrounded by some of our closest friends, exactly the kind of over the top celebration he deserves. What I didn’t know was that somewhere in the middle of all of it, he’d turned the whole weekend into something bigger. He got down on one knee in front of some of the people who mean the most to us, and I said yes before I even fully processed what was happening. I’m still catching up to the fact that I get to call him my fiancé now. To everyone who helped keep the secret, who showed up for him and for us, who made this weekend feel like the two best things happening at once -thank you doesn’t quite cover it. Here’s to whatever’s next, together 🤍♾️

My body carries stories of betrayal and abuse. My spirit the tales of excitement and love. And while my mind runs on a blend of crippling anxiety and doubt these days, I know deep in my being that my soul remains resilient.

Bringing balance to my body, my mind and my spirit has felt entirely too easy lately and I knew something was coming soon to shake that shit up.

I know we spiral through life and that the direction in which we spiral is entirely up to us. Lessons and learnings come back around to make sure we’re paying attention, and I know that every storm clears way for new opportunities to emerge. My mind is prepared and my spirit is excited but as always, my body needs a little time to catch up.

It’s taken some time but I know now that this is how my soul moves through this lifetime.

Spirit, excited.
Mind, prepared.
Body, a few steps behind.

And as much as I wish this was different, I know that there’s a purpose for my soul choosing these pieces for the puzzle that paints the picture of who I am. I know there’s a reason for the rhythm and flow of how i move through this lifetime; and even if I don’t know the “why” just yet, I know that my soul is resilient and at the core of my being I will always choose growth over stagnation.

I was able to celebrate yesterday because of them. All of them. ✨From my twins, who made me a mom and gave my life a love I never knew existed. ✨My mom, who gave me life and showed me the kind of mother I wanted to be. ✨Their Nana, because without her there would be no twins. ✨My grandmother and great grandmother, my angels, the matriarchs whose strength, love, resilience, and wisdom still carry through our family every single day.

And all of the women in our lives who nurture, support, guide, encourage, and love so deeply. I couldn’t do it without each and every one of you!
