Yesterday, I had the honor of celebrating the launch of Grace Through Fire at a beautiful gathering in Santa Barbara, surrounded by so many of the people who helped bring this book to life. ❤️

It was such a full-circle moment to share this milestone with the people who have supported me through every chapter of this journey.

To my beautiful wife, Kelsey, for being by my side through it all. To the Westens, for opening your home and helping me grow into this next chapter. To my health, spiritual, and wellness support team, for helping me become stronger and more resilient than ever. To Mia and the entire SB SOS team, for organizing and bringing the event to life. And to my colleagues, friends, and community, thank you for your unwavering support throughout this process.

My heart is so full of gratitude. What began as a deeply personal story has become something I get to share with all of you, and being able to answer your questions, hear your thoughts, and connect over the book made the day even more meaningful.

Thank you for being part of this journey and for helping make Grace Through Fire a reality. This is a chapter I will never forget. ❤️

🔥 GRACE THROUGH FIRE IS OFFICIALLY OUT IN THE WORLD.

Eighteen years in the making.

I had no idea I would someday write about that night. I certainly never imagined that eighteen years later, strangers would be able to walk into a bookstore and read about the things my family spent years not talking about.

That still scares the hell out of me.

But I wrote this book because the murder isn’t the whole story.

In some ways, it isn’t even the most important part.

The more important story is what happened afterward.

This week, I am not celebrating an anniversary. My dad died. A family shattered. There is nothing beautiful about that.

But eighteen years later, I can recognize that the worst thing that happened to my family did not become the only thing that happened to me.

There was a hell of a lot of life afterward.

Messy life. Beautiful life. Bad decisions and second chances. Love and loss. Successes I never saw coming and failures I probably should have. And eventually, sobriety, clarity, forgiveness, and gratitude.

I still don’t have all the answers. Maybe at almost 58, I’m finally comfortable admitting that.

But today, I know this:

I am still here.

Eighteen years ago, my world changed with a telephone call.

Today, I can look back at that woman in the old varsity hoodie, standing outside a house wrapped in yellow crime-scene tape, and tell her something she could not possibly have known:

You make it through the fire.

Not perfectly. Not without scars. And certainly not without screwing up along the way.

But you make it.

And eighteen years later, you sit down and tell the story.

Grace Through Fire: A Memoir of Murder, Tragedy, and Resilience is officially out today.

Thank you to everyone who helped me bring these words into the world.

May the journey begin within you.

Did my best to reproduce the original vinyl gatefold for the CD. Slight adjustments and smaller, obviously, but I was able to get it all in there. No Country for Old Men out now on vinyl, CD, and cassette! #johndensmore #chuckd #cd
