Friday nights show at Saint Vitus Bar was an absolute blast. I’d like to thank George, Arthur, Dave, Laynie, Tom, Henrietta and the rest of the staff and crew for the great care and hospitality. I’d also like to thank my dear friend Chris Enriquez for asking us to hop on the show. Thanks and hi-fives to our new friends in Drag Talk, The Still Out and our buds in Heavy Halo for rocking with us. Lastly it’s all about the folks who show up. We wouldn’t be doing shows if you didn’t! We’d lock ourselves away in a recording studio and just make recordings but you keep showing up and we are so eternally grateful! All of the photos in this post were taken by Terry Matlin. Another one of my dearest friends who also happens to be incredibly talented. Follow him and check out his IG account. WERE SO BACK. Apologies for the delay, been across the pond and back again. Can finally share my edits of this insane opening weekend. The levels of pride swelling inside for my extended family, to see years of perseverance and hard work pay off so fully to an audience so full of love to give a vital piece of the community back with force. I felt like living a pivotal moment in history. SAINT VITUS FOREVER.

Congratulations to the @saintvitusbar family on reopening the best venue around! I felt such pure joy these past weekends every time I walked into the new space, and it’s amazing what you all have worked towards. Looking forward to seeing so many ripping shows with y’all!

We’ve been open for 10 days so I can finally take 5 minutes to step back and let it all sink in… 2 years, 6 months and 19 days passed between the last show at 1120 Manhattan Ave and the first show at the new location of @saintvitusbar Over 300 shows and parties moved or booked at partner venues and now we finally have a home base again. Thank you to everyone who has stayed tuned in, continuously supported, and came out to make our first few shows memorable. Thank you for buying my MERCH! Thank you to the artists who have trusted us to deliver, whether it was in another room or in our brand new space. And thank you to THE GODDAMN TEAM!!!!! It’s easy to normalize things when you’re just living life but when you really stop and look at what’s going on, it helps you appreciate things and be in the moment Being alive, having the same friends since being teenagers, still partying but in our 40s, enjoying the same things that brought us together is something I don’t take for granted Most NYC institutions like CBGB, Tramps, Wetlands, Coney Island High, Max’s, Limelight or L’Amour never got a second chance. Not only did @saintvitusbar become a modern version of these places, but it’s on its second chapter and now it’s not just a normal venue, it’s on the cusp of being a rock concert venue now, like Bowery Ballroom vibes and our friends own it, run it and work there. That is exceptionally extraordinary. Being with my people over the weekend at our friends club that freaking @anthrax and @converge christened while witnessing how beautiful the new venue is and making new memories, taking them in and being present was special and a major landmark for the owners, David, Arty and George and our entire music scene. Everyone should be insanely proud of them and what was accomplished. I felt like seeing Anthrax was like seeing a rock concert at my friend’s house and I felt like watching Converge was as cathartic as seeing some the first hardcore shows I saw in my teenage years. Our friends are carrying the culture into the future in the biggest nightlife spot of NYC today (Bushwick) amongst lots of bars and venues sticking to something a bit more conventional. The new Vitus feels like going to the beach and planting your flag. Dave I have never been prouder of you as a promoter. Seeing you as a young boy at shows and now as a man running the most important rock venue in nyc is amazing to witness. Props to @confinesworld @gslades @arthurjshepherd @ohaileigh & the entire SV crew! 🖤 🤘
