🚧 Project Update: Friday, Oct. 23, 2026 🚧

Concrete work continues as crews construct piles, columns, and abutments that will support the new northern bridge span.

Crews are drilling 136-foot-deep holes into the riverbed, placing steel cages inside and filling the holes with concrete to create the foundations for bridge columns.

More concrete placements for piles and columns are planned in the coming weeks.

Upon completion, crews will begin building the falsework, a temporary wooden structure that supports the bridge deck during construction.

Please reduce speed and use caution when traveling through the construction area.

Traffic conditions may change due to weather or field conditions.

Union members are tired of the noise. Focus on the kitchen table issues: affordability, gas prices, and letting kids be kids. Time to get real.

Tonight's guest is California Assemblywoman Leticia Castillo, the Republican incumbent representing Assembly District 58 in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
Castillo is the daughter of Mexican immigrants, a licensed psychotherapist, and a former small business owner. She entered the Assembly in 2024 and now faces reelection against Democrat Clarissa Cervantes, a Riverside City Council member. This is a rematch of their 2024 election.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Crime Victims United today announced its next round of legislative endorsements for the 2027 election cycle, recognizing a group of candidates who demonstrated a thoughtful and substantive commitment to victims, survivors, and the everyday public-safety concerns affecting Californians across the state.

Crime Victims United is proud to endorse:
✅AD 3 — Dom Belza (R-Marysville)
✅AD 34 — Charles Hughes (R-Barstow area)
✅AD 35 — Saul Ayon (R-McFarland)
✅AD 58 — Leticia Castillo (R-Corona)
✅AD 66 — Paul Seo (D-Rancho Palos Verdes)
✅AD 72 — Gracey Van Der Mark (R-Huntington Beach)
✅SD 4 — Alexandra Duarte (R-Modesto)
✅SD 12 — Nathan Magsig (R-Clovis)

“These candidates did more than simply complete a questionnaire — they took the time to thoughtfully engage with the difficult issues affecting victims, families and communities throughout California,” said Topo Padilla, President of Crime Victims United. “From early-release policies and victims’ rights to accountability, community safety and broader quality-of-life concerns, their responses demonstrated a willingness to listen, think critically and lead with common sense.”

Crime Victims United’s endorsement process asks candidates to consider issues that reach far beyond the courtroom. Public safety policy affects whether families feel secure in their neighborhoods, whether victims have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect them, whether serious sentences retain their meaning, and whether communities have the tools necessary to maintain a strong quality of life.

No tax on tips? Sure, you got it. Just one thing; California still taxes you. Leticia Castillo introduced a bill that would bring the no tax on tips law to California. Any guesses on who made sure it didn’t get a look?
