What an absolutely insane year 22 brought me.

January: I applied to optometry school.
February: I took the OAT
March: I got into UAB school of optometry.
April: Started working for 7brew ☕️
May: Watched my best friend graduate
June: We took a little trip to Monterey, Ca
August: I started optometry school then two weeks later I graduated with both my undergraduate degree in bioinformatics and my masters degree in multidisciplinary biomedical sciences.
October: Fall break in NYC🗽🌆
November: Went to my first Auburn game 🧡💙
December: Successfully finished my first semester of optometry school
January: I am so thankful for another year.

Wrapping it up! One semester left!

Today we wrapped up Orientation 2025! Over 1,300 students have been welcomed to the place that I am so proud to call home. This summer challenged me and strengthened me in so many ways. It taught me the importance of connection, leadership, and service, all while allowing me to showcase a place that has had such an incredible impact on my life.

I’m so thankful for this team, and the friendships I have gained from it. I am leaving this summer a better version of myself, and for that I am so thankful.

All glory to God, for providing the strength, energy (lots of it), and community that I gained from this summer.

Class of 2029, you rock. I am so excited for your Samford story to begin!

There are few words that can capture what @su_orientation has meant to me. The past two years have been of challenge and encouragement, humility and growth.

When asked what I love most about Samford, my answer is always: the people. This team has seen me at both my highest and lowest, walking with me through every season. They’ve celebrated strengths I never knew I had and graciously exposed weaknesses I needed to face.

I leave this chapter deeply changed. Not by a title, a role, or a position, but by the way Samford has drawn me closer to Jesus. Without Him, I am nothing. With Him, I have found purpose.

As I step into my senior year, my prayer is to lean into discomfort, to embrace curiosity over complacency, and to never stop pursuing growth.
