🏎️A milestone worth celebrating! This summer, the Catawba College Solar Vehicle Team reached an exciting milestone as they participated in the Formula Sun Grand Prix and won the Dr. James Hill Sportsmanship Award. While Apperion didn't get to the race track, the students assisted other teams to make sure their solar vehicles kept running! This milestone was made possible with months of dedication, collaboration, and problem-solving. From preparing the vehicle to helping other teams, students gained invaluable hands-on experience while showcasing the innovation, perseverance, and teamwork that drive the Solar Vehicle Team forward. Congratulations to everyone who made this journey possible!🎉 The Catawba College Solar Vehicle Team receiving Dr. James Hill Sportsmanship Award during the Formula Sun Grand Prix awards ceremony.

🤠☀️ ————————— Day 7 — One more day to go! ☀️🏎️ We spent almost the entire day completing 5 loops around Elk City, bringing our total distance to nearly 3,900 km since leaving Minneapolis! The day wasn’t without a few adventures, with strong winds and extreme heat putting both our car and our drivers to the test. Our wheel access panels, which are held on with nothing but tape, were having a hard time staying in place. 😅 We made a safe pit stop to secure them with some heavy-duty home renovation tape, and we’re back on the road! Only one day left! Stage 4 awaits, and everything should hold together. We’ll see you at the finish line in Amarillo, Texas! 🤠☀️ #etsmtl #fsgp2026 #asc2026

☀️ ————————— Day 6 finally brought us plenty of sunshine, with temperatures reaching 40°C (104°F) and even higher feels-like temperatures. 🥵☀️ With this race already longer than our Australian adventure, the team is definitely starting to feel the challenge. But we keep pushing forward, with around 3,400 km completed so far! 🔥 The lack of comfort is starting to take a toll on morale, but we’re a strong team and we’re sticking together through it all. 💪 Only 2 more days until the finish line. We’re looking forward to seeing even more sunshine! ☀️ #etsmtl #fsgp2026 #asc2026

💪 ————————— Day 5 of the American Solar Challenge! ☁️🔋 Yesterday was another day filled with clouds and humidity. It almost felt like we never got to see the sun! ☁️😩 And yet, surprisingly, we’re still managing to recharge! Our weather forecasts keep changing constantly and the days are long, but every little break in the clouds, no matter how short, gives us a much-needed boost. ☀️ We keep pushing and adapting to the conditions. We’re not giving up! 💪 #etsmtl #fsgp2026 #asc2026

ENCORE DES NUAGES. ENCORE. 🥺❤️ MERCI TELLEMENT, Catawba College! On vous en est extrêmement reconnaissants! 🙏 ————————— MORE CLOUDS. AGAIN. 😩☁️ But we finally got a little break in the clouds, with some sunshine coming out just in time for charging tonight! ☀️🔋 Today, we ran into an issue with our pickup truck that we use to tow our trailer. Thankfully, the team from Catawba College was incredibly generous and offered to let us use their truck and beautiful trailer so we can finish the competition and stay competitive. We honestly don’t have enough words to thank them for their generosity and support. 🥺❤️ THANK YOU SO MUCH, Catawba College! We truly appreciate you! 🙏 #etsmtl #fsgp2026 #asc2026
