OG OR MAN 141 – OG Grogan On @steamradiomcr today Sunday at 3pm and Mixcloud later! This show celebrates the 45th anniversary of Happy Birthday, the debut album of Clare Grogan fronted Altered Images (now touring). A curious record, 95% of which is Banshees dark goth, the remaining 5% being the bubble gum gurgly pop that they would become rightly famous for. This show as usual leans into similar genre swerves, including inter alia: four entirely different tracks called “Leave Me Alone”, Ukranian folk drone, more wonky emanations from the Tod odd bods, other weird communications from Stockport and Amsterdam mesmerising dark psychedelia and dazzling sunshine funk. And the best ever 12” pop remix ever made, and I WILL fight anyone who disagrees. Tracklist has its fist up in the comments. OG OR MAN – music to put you in a right mood.

Refusing to choose between instrumental composition, bedroom DIY ethos and pop music, he collaborates with breton piper Enora Morice and melts the bagpipes with heavily computer-processed samples and vocals. Cook, John Zorn, Userband or Clarissa Connely. + support from @catbandcat A Manchester based 5-piece alternative band who make richly textured and formally inventive music.
