Still sappy

We moved Cate into her dorm this weekend, and as expected, the goodbye was the hardest part. The long ride home was a roller coaster of emotions. Sadness. Pride. Worry. Excitement for her. Then sadness all over again.

There were stretches of silence. A lot of them. When we did talk we spoke about how proud we are of her, laughed at old stories, cried, and kept reminding each other that she’s exactly where she’s supposed to be.

I just wish where she’s supposed to be wasn’t so far from home.
