For more than a year, Nick and I have been having serious conversations about opening a Pilates studio in Brunswick. I started taking classes a few years ago because of a chronic back injury and I was obsessed instantly. And I do mean obsessed - I came home and told Nick we had to buy a reformer for the house so I could do Pilates anytime I wanted.

I realized my only option was driving all the way to Portland everyday and Midcoast needed its own studio, so we got more serious. We closed the Portland Deli, I enrolled in teacher training, and nearly all of 2025 has been devoted to learning, practicing, studying, and teaching. Nick has been beside me through everything, including being my daily practice student, and my friends have supported me with their enthusiasm and bodies weekly.

I love a project I love a business I love a plan I love a crazy idea I love making it bigger than I originally thought I love the excitement of it all.

We spent several months looking for a space in Brunswick. A dozen buildings later and still no. I could’ve made this dream work in a wet cardboard box because that’s how intensely clear my vision is. Instead, the universe delivered the most incredible building, and renovation begins tomorrow!

I had hoped that somewhere along the way I would meet someone who would be the perfect fit to do this with us. The universe for sure delivered on this one - @olivialeroy a thoughtful, SMART, talented Pilates teacher with a degree in design. Oh and she’s cute and fun too. I explained the vision and she dove in before I even signed a building. It feels amazing to be believed in.

The next couple months will be a ton of building in more ways than one. TLDR; I own a pilates studio!!! @routinebrunswick

What a fun weekend teaching the Pilates Chair certification @saludportland ! @catebee and I had a blast with this incredible group of humans. The sun was bright, so we had to wear our shades—maybe we’ve started a new Pilates trend? 😎😉
