POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

EVERY single one of you in this picture are a big part of why I keep doing this!✨🩷

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for this community and the incredible safe, fun, inclusive space we’ve created together. Every time we step on stage, we aren’t just telling stories — we are building a sanctuary for our art. I am so thankful to everyone who contributes to that energy every single time. I know things have been difficult and heavy, and we’ve faced our fair share of pressure and challenges. Yet, in the middle of it all, those who truly love this community and want to see us grow and stay united. We have shown our true love and support—bold & bright, and unapologetically. This past show was so much more than just a show… it was a milestone I’ll carry with me forever. Not only did I get to celebrate my birthday, but we also had the honor of celebrating @garnet.starlet , @lipslikelepore, and @bohemianclapstitty, all while debuting our cabaret at a stunning new venue. It was grand, it was elaborate, it was unforgettable, and it was everything I could have hoped for. I have to say a couple more things: while there are so many of you who couldn’t make it to the show, please know you’re all just as special to me. You are the heartbeat of this space, we wouldn’t have a stage without performers or audience, and your presence made such a significant day feel so amazing. I love you all and couldn’t be prouder of everything we’re building together as a community & family. 🖤

Last Saturday in Durham, the Kings came out. There was a better crowd than I expected. Usually the attendance for an all-Kings show is half of a Queen’s. Then Sunday in Raleigh, there were quite a few Kings who competed for Glitter Hour. One even won. It did me good. It did the community good. If anything, it told me 2 things: change is acknowledged in drag & it can be hard out there for a King. When I first discovered drag, Kings were not on the card. When I went to my first show, Kings were what stood out for me. The Kings were creative. They were passionate. They were fierce. Every show since has brightened the fire I have for supporting the Kings, for there aren’t as many who should in our community. Why? U say “drag”, most have a fixed view on what that is, and it’s a narrow view. Kings don’t fit in that space. This nearsightedness carries over from straight crowds to established performers. Kings r different. Kings r unique. Kings r radical. So of course in the mainstream, Kings r ignored. It’s shifting. We see it. But every movement begins at home. The local Kings pave the way, but it’s a hell of a road. We’ve faced prejudice in our community from the outside. It’s what drove us to do what we do; be what we be. But there is an inner prejudice; an indifference among us. Not just in drag, but in the spectrum itself. It goes beyond Kings, and hits the very center of what makes us who we r. There is a prejudice against people. Trans people. Genderfluid. So many who don’t fit the mold to some of what it means to be not just Queer, but human. Kings remind us of this, and some don’t want to be reminded. It’s more comfortable for them to stay in the bunker. Kings r out in the field, willingly. Every performance builds another brick in the road. We have Kings all over N.C. But where r they in the clubs? In the crowd? Why do they have to linger below? They r different. We spend our lives trying to reconcile who we r, and after we do we have to prove ourselves to our own allies. No. They need to prove something to us. To those who r exiled from the main-stage. To those ignored. To those unloved. The answer is simple: support the Kings. They’ve earned their crown.

So we need to do another show ASAP right? Love you all so much for bringing amazing performances to RECKLESS. I just wanted to give my friends a little escapist world encapsulated by Club Era to show off. I’d say it was a success. 🖤🔪⚡️🎤 📸: @sienna.lens

and the centerpiece... mother, kai, ko, and becca get real about race, gatekeeping, and accountability in our scene. not comfortable. not supposed to be

poetry, photo recaps from alt-pride and belly, ask aunt dorothea, cosmic bullshit, the pledge of allegiance's weird history, and a logic puzzle to round it out

First time doing a Duo and oh my god was it amazing. This was so much fun and so so so hot 🥵 this was a song I wanted to perform to since I first started drag in October and I am so thankful that I was able to do it! Especially with the one and only @catharsismortem who put so much effort into designing our outfits. This was a number I will most definitely want to do again. And thank you so much to @thexelabela for letting us walk the RECKLESS stage with this sickness. ❤️💕
