Want to know what God is calling you to do? Make time to know Him.

We can spend hours searching for answers about our vocation—and struggle to spend a few quiet minutes with the One calling us.

And when we do make time for Him, we can spend it focused entirely on our questions, our needs, and the answers we want—without giving much thought to simply being with Him.

Then prayer gets distracting and uncomfortable, so we bail.

Fr. Wayne Sattler’s advice? Stay for the time you’ve committed to the Lord. He knows what you’re going through.

Knowing about God and growing in friendship with Him belong together. Let what you learn lead you into prayer: speak honestly, listen, and gently return to Him when your mind wanders.

Whether you’re discerning priesthood, marriage, or your next faithful step, begin by making room for that relationship.

📌 Your challenge for the rest of this month: look at your calendar and set a daily appointment with God—at the same time each day. Aim for early, before distractions pile up and the day gets away from you. Show up and stay for the time you’ve committed—even when you feel nothing. 🙏

Mother Teresa and Fulton Sheen. Two spiritual powerhouses. Two lives spent for souls.

They were loved, criticized, controversial, and unafraid.

They confronted communism and materialism. Defended the unborn. Served the forgotten. Neither built a life around being liked.
And they knew one another.

In 1964, before Mother Teresa became a global icon, Sheen spent two hours with her and called her “a truly wonderful and saintly lady.”

They prayed the Rosary together. Mother Teresa loved Sheen’s Life of Christ, reportedly carried it with her, and assigned it to her sisters for Lenten reading.

They also shared a secret:
The daily Eucharistic Holy Hour.

Sheen credited the fruitfulness of his priesthood to it. Mother Teresa said that after her community began a daily Holy Hour, vocations doubled.

By her death, nearly 4,000 Missionaries of Charity were serving in 123 countries.

And Sheen had his own unforgettable encounter with leprosy.

He entered an African leper colony carrying 500 crucifixes. When the first man extended a disease-ravaged hand, Sheen recoiled and dropped the crucifix into it rather than touch him.
Immediately convicted, he realized there were now 501 lepers in that colony — and he was the 501st.

He reached into the man’s hand, retrieved the cross, pressed it back into his palm, and went on to touch the others.

He said he learned to love “by touch, by the incarnational principle.”

That was Mother Teresa too.

Not loving humanity from a distance.

Touching the wound. Entering the suffering. Seeing Christ in the one the world recoils from.
For both of them, it came down to souls.

Mother Teresa stood before the world and called abortion the “greatest destroyer of peace.” Sheen spent hours personally instructing one soul at a time.

This is sanctity.

Surrender. Courage. Prayer. Sacrifice. Souls.

St. Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us.

Soon-to-be Blessed Fulton Sheen, pray for us.

Many are only now jumping on the Fulton Sheen bandwagon, but Sheen has been quietly transforming souls for decades.

His sanctity precedes this moment.

There will be some who show up for the excitement and then let him fade from memory.

There will be others who try to choke out his witness with criticism, saying he was too much of this or too little of that.

Still others will simply let Sheen pass them by.

But there will also be those who recognize this moment for what it is: an invitation.

They will investigate. They will read. They will listen. They will dive deeply into his works, his words, his witness…his wounds.

And there they will discover not only a great saint, but a master of the spiritual life. A spiritual father capable of guiding souls through the turbulent waters of the modern world.

For Sheen, everything came down to souls.

And if reaching souls meant adopting new methods of evangelization, entering new mediums, or finding new ways to communicate eternal truths, he was willing to detach himself from his own preferences, aesthetics, and comforts for the sake of the individual soul before him.

Are we willing to do the same?

Are we willing to encounter the wounded people in our lives with compassion, patience, and a heartfelt consideration of how best to reach that particular soul?

Or will we continue lumping people into masses, categories, camps, and theories, speaking about them from a distance instead of loving them up close?

Sheen did not evangelize abstractions. He evangelized souls.

So let us get down on our knees before God, and then get our hands dirty in the work of love.

For the sake of souls.
For the glory of the King.

Personal holiness is the starting point of the new evangelization.

In this powerful conversation, Chris Stefanick and Dr. Peter Howard dive into Fulton Sheen’s revolutionary approach to reaching the modern world, an approach that holds together the dynamism of the Gospel, divine truth and orthodoxy, and a deeply personal way of encountering the individual soul.

Sheen understood that evangelization begins with the human person. Before we can transform the culture, we must allow Christ to transform us. Before doctrine can be received as something living, the wounded person must encounter the love, truth, and mercy of Jesus Christ.

This is why Fulton Sheen may be one of the great patrons of this new era of evangelization. He knew how to meet the world precisely where it was wounded, without compromising truth and without reducing the faith to an impersonal set of ideas.

The Fulton Sheen Movement seeks to carry that legacy forward by beginning with personal holiness, genuine relationship, and the transformation of the individual soul, then allowing the fullness of Catholic truth to illuminate everything that follows.

The world does not simply need better arguments. It needs saints.

Come be part of the Fulton Sheen Movement and help us bring Sheen’s vision to a new generation.

“Will my child ever come back to the Church?”

St. Monica knew that anguish.

For years, she prayed, pleaded, and wept for her son Augustine as he wandered far from the Catholic faith.

At one point, Monica begged a bishop to reason with him. But Augustine wasn’t ready to listen. Seeing her persistence and tears, the bishop reassured her:

“It is not possible that the son of these tears should perish.”

And God was already at work.

Years later, Augustine encountered St. Ambrose of Milan. Through Ambrose’s preaching, Scripture, grace, and a long interior struggle, the objections Augustine once held against the Catholic faith began to fall away.

The son Monica wept over would be baptized into the Church.

He would become a priest.
A bishop.
A saint.
And a Doctor of the Church.

Never underestimate what God can do with our prayers, petitions, and tears.

And especially for the parents, grandparents, godparents, priests, and friends praying for a young man who seems far from God:

Keep praying for the young men in your life.

You may not yet see what God is doing in his heart—or what He may be calling him to.

His story isn’t finished.

St. Monica, pray for our sons. 🙏

Know a parent who needs this encouragement? Send this to them today.

This conversation has been a long time coming.
Dr. Peter Howard recently joined Chris Stefanick for a deeply personal conversation about Fulton Sheen, and Peter shares vulnerably about his own transformation through Sheen’s life, teaching, and spiritual vision, and why becoming one of Sheen’s leading champions has become a mission of his life.

Listen to every minute. You will come away edified, challenged, and with a much deeper sense of why Fulton Sheen matters so urgently right now.

And then RUN to register for the Fulton Sheen Pilgrimage. Only 10 spots remain.
Dr. Peter Howard, Fr. Thomas Loya, Bishop Joseph Coffey, and Chris Stefanick will help lead what may be the most complete Fulton Sheen pilgrimage experience you could possibly have, taking you directly into the places, spirituality, history, and mission of the man who is about to be beatified.

Your pilgrimage experience also includes the Fulton Sheen: America’s Saint Conference on September 23 and the Beatification of Fulton Sheen on September 24.

This is history. Don’t watch it pass by from a distance. Come live it with us.
