Alot of people enjoy film photography for its “happy accidents.” While I can appreciate that, I strive for perfection & ruthlessly iron out potential points of failure in everything I do.

I’ve been bringing a new-to-me 1950’s Zeiss medium format camera to my workflow. While this was a state-of-the-art device seventy years ago & has been thoroughly serviced & tested, I managed to overwhelm it.

During @bnrivett & Tarek’s wedding, I worked the old Zeiss a little too enthusiastically, causing the advance knob to come loose. This resulted in the frames of a portrait series to overlap. Each shot bled into the next until I tightened the knob for the next roll.

When I saw the negatives for the first time, my heart sank.

But on closer inspection, I was astonished by their serendipitous beauty.

Maybe there’s room for a happy accident after all.

Their wedding planning details included their family and guests, a great ambiance, delicious food, amazing customer service, a custom designed dress for Gladys and a custom tailored suit for Wilbur, lots of flowers, and their furry babies - Minnie and Brownie.

Gladys and Wilbur are AMAZING Furry Parents! And their Minnie and Brownie couldn’t be left out of the wedding. Aside from walking down the aisle, Gladys and Wilbur included Minnie and Brownie in their invitations, their signature drinks, and their cake toppers.
