"📚 'Joy of Christmas' by Cathy Nortey is a heartwarming journey into the true spirit of the holiday season! 🎄✨ As you open the pages of this enchanting nativity story, you'll find yourself transported to Nature's Valley, experiencing a Christmas like no other. The story unfolds in a school setting, where the teacher masterfully intertwines the joy of Christmas with the timeless tale of baby Jesus's birth. 🏫

🖌️ The illustrations are nothing short of spectacular! Each page bursts with vibrant colors, bringing the narrative to life in a visually stunning way. The attention to detail is remarkable, making it a treat for both young readers and those young at heart. 🌟

📖 What struck me most was the seamless integration of the religious theme. 'Joy of Christmas' manages to delicately incorporate the story of Jesus Christ in a manner that is accessible and engaging for children, without losing the depth of its significance. It's a beautiful introduction to the true meaning behind Christmas. 🙏

🌈 The inclusion of a diverse cast of children in the story is a thoughtful touch, making it a wonderfully inclusive read for families of all backgrounds. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Amazing. This book is great for all ages. It’s a simple version of how Jesus was born and it shows what Christmas is really about. My 9 year old daughter loved it and read it a few times and is excited to talk to her bible study teacher about it. The illustrations are amazing, it’s easy to read and follow along. It has a diverse cast of children represented which is important for me as a parent.

My thoughts
A really cute children's book with a take on the nativity story, I like the colours and the cute animals in the illustrations. I think a children's book should be bold, vibrant, with short, snappy sentences, which this definitely is. I love the diversity of the children, I think in our more multi-cultural world, it's important books reflect that.

Some thoughts from a 5 year old - aren't they cold if its Christmas, I have to wrap up warm to go to school. Do they live in Australia? Oh, they want good Christmas presents. I really like the animal drawings. I know the story about baby Jesus. This is nice. Why are they calling him a lamb? That was a nice story.

So some questions were raised from the small one, but we both enjoyed it!

This is a lovely little kids book telling the story of the birth of Jesus.

The book would be good for anyone who is religious and wants to tell the story to children.

The illustrations are super cute and colourful, grabbing any child’s attention.

The Joy of Christmas
By Cathy Nortey

Book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 stars
Illustration ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 stars

This book was absolutely adorable. I loved that it introduced children to the true meaning behind Christmas, Jesus. The book was very well written and I would love to have a copy for my preschool class. Each page was beautifully illustrated with bright colors. The book its self is beautiful. I love how it goes from talking about Christmas break to teaching the kids about the Christmas story. This book is a great introduction to the story of our Savior Jesus Christ birth.

Thank you @cathynortey and @lovebookstours for bringing some joy our way with Joy of a Christmas!

📖📖 Book Review 📖📖 What a beautiful Christmas treasure this book is- for all ages! The birth of Jesus millennia ago seems so far ago in the grand scheme of life, but for Christians, it is a birth of a Savior that is still relevant today. This picture illustrates how Jesus’ birth saves us from original sin in a simple yet poignant manner.
Simple yet powerful and absolutely beautifully written and illustrated

REVIEW

I have read a lot of Christmas books, including children's Christmas books, however they normally concentrate on Santa or the north pole and so forth, so, it was nice to read one that was back to basics with this story all about Jesus.

The first thing I want to say is that I am not a religious person, I have my beliefs and I grew up with grandparents that are religious but I wouldn't class myself as religious. Having said that growing up as a child of the Armed Forces that was quite a religious environment and so know the story of the nativity and Jesus very well. I thought it was so nice to come back to the origins and remember what Christmas is all about, in amongst all the gift buying and festive cheer.

This is a really lovely story with beautifully colourful illustrations. A fantastic kids Christmas read with a heart warming message.

What a wonderful book! Wonderfully written for children about the nativity and birth of Jesus Christ with beautiful illustrations throughout. I love the representation too! My daughters really enjoyed sitting snuggled up on the sofa whilst I read it to them.

⭐BOOK REVIEW ⭐

Thank you @lovebookstours and @cathynortey for the ecopy of Joy of Christmas.

This children’s book is such a lovely way to explain the baby Jesus story. Arthur thoroughly enjoyed this story and when he realised it was the baby Jesus story he shouted with such enthusiasm.

I thought this story was written exceptionally well and briefly covered God and Jesus well without complication and in a way young children understand, though Arthur did worry about the “we couldn’t be friends with God anymore”, that’s a conversation and a different story for another day. He absolutely loved the story and I can imagine he’ll be wanting to read it several more times in the coming Christmas weeks.

The illustrations were so bright and vivid, they popped off the page and grabbed the attention of Arthur. They were a delight that made Arthur engage with the pages.

I highly recommend parents read this story to their children

🌟 BOOK REVIEW 🌟

“Joy of Christmas”
By Cathy Nortey.

I read this book with both of my children, Elliot (4 years old) and Peighton (7 years old). When I asked them what they liked about this story they said:

Elliot - “I liked that Mary was going to have a baby I liked the picture of her cuddling her baby. I liked all the animals too. Christmas is fun opening presents, Jesus gived us Christmas”.

Peighton - “I like how it’s about the bible and I took a break and sang some of my Christmas songs that’s about the bible. I’m also excited about Christmas break and finishing up the school, I’ll be dancing then too!”

As a parent reading this book to my children, I thought this was a very insightful, educational and fun way of learning the children about the true meaning of Christmas. They both loved looking at the illustration and were both interested in the story the whole way through. It opened up lots of questions about the story of Jesus.

As an Early Years Practitioner, working with young children, I will definitely be grabbing a physical copy of this book to take into the nursery and read to the children! This book would provide the perfect foundations for opening up discussions and learning about Jesus and the story of Christmas!

Very well written in a fun and educational way! 👏🏻

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Thank you for the gifted digital copy of the book and for having me on the tour to read and review it!
