📖 You Can't Be Serious — Cathy Yardley 💕 One of my first NetGalley ARCs! ✨ First of all, finding anything about this book online was a task! Every time I searched the title, Google kept showing me Prajwal Hegde's book instead. Well well… forget the usual 20s romance! This one is about two people in their late 40s and early 50s, proving that butterflies don't come with an expiry date! Meet Troy, a successful CMO who probably has an Backup for his Backups. Mr. Plan A-to-Z! And then there's Jennie — a tarot reader, café worker, and die-hard fan of the fictional K-pop band K4RMA, whose biggest dream is to attend their concert before turning 50. One trusts spreadsheets, the other trusts tarot cards. What could possibly go wrong? Watching them go from enemies to friends to lovers was genuinely heartwarming. What I loved most? MATURE LOVE! ❤️ No unnecessary misunderstandings or running away from feelings. Just two adults learning to support each other, respect boundaries and navigate their struggles — from Jennie's ADHD and depressive cycles to Troy's childhood trauma and controlling father. And Troy's mother, Patricia, giving his boss Wheeler a hard time? ICONIC! 😂👏 Also, Jennie's K-pop obsession made me realise how dedicated fandoms can be. Now I'm tempted to explore BTS myself. Let's see if I find a new obsession! 🎶 But was it perfect? Not quite. The middle felt a little stretched, and I did lose interest at times. A few fewer pages wouldn't have hurt, Cathy! Still, it's a sweet, feel-good romance about healing, self-discovery and finding love when you least expect it. My verdict: A refreshing romance that proves love has no age limit, even if the story could have used a little trimming. ❤️ Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. 💌 Now tell me — what's your secret fandom? 👀💕 A band, celebrity, fictional character or something completely unexpected? Confess in the comments! 🤭👇 #YouCantBeSerious #CathyYardley #NetGalley #ARCReview #BookstagramIndia

First Line Friday - Guess the book How important is that first line of a book? I just started a few books and one had my jaw on the floor. Can you tell me which book these are from? 1. You know this story, Bartholomew, though you do not know all of it. 2. I’ve been around a lot of penises in my life, but the one six inches away from my face is the last one I ever wanted to see. 3. Being from a small town, I’ve found, means being attached to a rubber band. 4. Troy Wainwright’s seventy-six-year-old mother wasn’t missing, per se. How did you do? First line friday • audiobook • currently reading • First line Friday first sentence of four books asking you to guess which book they are from currently reading thank God it’s Friday

👻🎃 October Book Challenge 🎃👻 👻 Day 11: LGBTQ+ Rep 🏳️‍🌈 October 11 is National Coming Out Day 🏳️‍🌈 I love books with LGBTQIA+ representation. Some of the books I’ve read focus on characters who are out and living their truth with pride. Others, such as the ones I’m featuring today, include scenes where characters are coming to recognize their sexuality and/or coming out to friends, loved ones, or the world at large! I think both types of stories are important to see, because readers may approach from different stages in their own journey. Reading books like these, where characters were finding the language that fit them and then navigating coming out to their loved ones, helped me to understand my Ace/Demi identity and find the words to explain it to my husband. I’d highly recommend all nine books, but special emphasis on Last First Kiss and Role Playing because their storylines featuring characters exploring Ace/Demi identities in adulthood and finally feeling seen really hit home for me! 🖤🩶🤍💜 🏳️‍🌈 Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail by @ashleyhblake ❤️ Kiss Me, Maybe by @gabbywritesalot 🧡 Last First Kiss by @wintersjulian 💛 Red, White & Royal Blue by @casey.mcquiston 💚 Role Playing by @cathyyardley 🩵 Star Shipped by @catswrites 💙 XOXO by @authorchristinalee 💜 You & Me by @talbauerwrites 🩷 You Won’t Forget Me by @mazeyeddings 📖🎃📖👻📖🎃📖👻📖🎃📖👻📖 ❓QOTD: Do you have any recommendations for books with LGBTQIA+ representation? ✨WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY✨ and some of my favorite books with mental health representation. 🧠❤️ World Mental Health Day is observed every October 10th to raise awareness about mental health and encourage open, compassionate conversations. It’s a reminder that mental health is just as important as physical health and that everyone deserves access to support and care. We can (and should!) use today as an opportunity to check in with ourselves and others, challenge the stigma against mental health conversations, and remember that caring for our mental health is an ongoing process. Talking about our mental health is how we save lives. This is incredibly important to me as someone who has struggled with mental health my entire life. I grew up in a home with an incredibly sick mother. But my sisters and I were told it was all in her head and a moral failing. So when I started showing symptoms in my late teens? I already felt like a failure. After many, many years of diagnosis, I’m finally receiving the right treatment for me and my c-ptsd, anxiety, and adhd. For 10 years I went through life with a borderline personality disorder diagnosis, and the stigma around BPD really made it difficult for me to get the care that I needed. Vilifying mental illness (and therefore those who suffer from it) has cost so many lives. Speak up. Check on your loved ones. And end the stigma against mental illness and mental health awareness. Now…go check out those book recs. 👀 And have a great Saturday! ❤️ . . . . #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #worldmentalhealthday #mentalhealth #bookrecommendations

Book 97 of 2026 ✅ @cathyyardley ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unique romance with a great cast of characters. I really liked how Jennie was portrayed as a woman in her 40s who doesn’t have life figured out. Because seriously… sometimes you just don’t! I also have to say, I’ve never followed K-pop, but this book makes me want to check it out 😁 Thanks to @montlake_publishers for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Watch for You Can’t Be Serious to come out February 16, 2027.
