BB Oakland every first Tuesday.

First photo is the result of letting a 5 year old guest take the group photo then having to splice 3 of his photos together to capture everyone. 🤣😆😂

More highlights from Who Owns the Noise conference hosted by People’s Soundsystem and Dublab. We are so grateful to all the nightlife cultural workers and community members who showed up and contributed to essential conversations of political organizing within our dance music scene. While we’re excited to get back to our ongoing projects, we’re in a final fundraising push to help pay off the costs of producing the event.

We are a 100% grassroots project, funded entirely by ticket sales and organizers’ personal funds. Please donate or share to help us meet our remaining goal of $700. If you are able to offer additional support, contributions are greatly appreciated @peoplessoundsystem on Venmo.

It is in alignment with our values to pay every speaker, worker, rental and food vendor who dedicated their time, energy and expertise to hold such thoughtful and empowering discussions, set the space properly, and feed the people. We wouldn’t have been able to pull this off without you all. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.

Feel free to reach out if you’re interested in our ongoing projects or want to share what you’re working on!

⭐️ PANEL HIGHLIGHT ⭐️

Freya Yamamoto has spent her entire music industry career championing independent music. Her contributions to the Bay Area punk scene through her label Prize Fighter Records or as Chief Tentacle at Jello Biafra’s legendary Alternative Tentacles Records are numerous and felt by her community. Currently, she’s working to help develop and manage Subvert, which presents itself as a truly independent worker-owned music platform for artists and by artists, while also building out a vinyl pressing plant in the SF Bay Area with the aim of continuing to make this vital infrastructure available to independent scenes.

We are so excited to have her share her experiences working in these spaces and providing insight on how we can continue to maintain our agency in independent music and art spaces. Catch her joint panel with @earth__poems, Cooperativizing and Resisting Exploitation, March 15 at @dublab. Ticket link in bio 💥💥

So excited to be getting married to this wonderful woman!

Freya and I have decided to elope! Don't worry, we're still planning to do a real ceremony with everyone we love - but for a variety of reasons getting married on paper seemed like a good idea to do sooner than later. Looking forward to spending the rest of my life with my ridiculous, incredible, powerful partner ❤️ 😊
