Werk @thesaloonmn hosted by @dec.reme was probably the funnest Thursday night I’ve had in ages. While at its surface Werk is an open stage drag competition, if you look just under that you’ll find a loving celebration of queer nightlife in the twin cities.

If you haven’t found your way to this weekly competition yet, consider it required. The stage calls all types of performers, and the seats call all lovers of art, culture, and fun.

I don’t think I’ve ever walked away from a weeknight show thinking about how much I can’t wait to go back.

I tried my best to include as many photos of everyone as possible, if you see yourself, feel free to tag yourself.

Huge thanks to @dec.reme for inviting me to shoot. Shoutout to the top three @tom.foolerydrag, @tiffanystantrum, and of course the nights winner @mali_knights

I don’t usually do a “monthly photo dump” but I had a very eventful August

My brother and I went to Valleyfair together to kick off out family vacation

We went to Six Flags in Illinois and got rained on a lot, but we were able to get on most of the rides

Terrifying billboard right outside the Six Flags parking lot. Something about this is truly unsettling to me

After Illinois, we went to Cedar Point in Ohio

While in Ohio, we went to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and I got to see a lot of cool things! This is a set piece and puppets used in Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” when Roger Waters performed the album onstage in concert to commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall

Trè Cools drumset from the American Idiot music video

One of Prince’s Guitars. The fret markers are his symbol and I thought that was cool

@cronch.cosplay and I saw Will Wood in Chicago!

@bourbonbooksbitch and I saw My Chemical Romance at Target Field!

Miku Cosplayer I met at the MCR concert (if you’re seeing this lmk so I can tag you)

My cousin asked me to help with the tip bucket at her show, Diva the House Down at Lush Lounge and Theater, and obviously I said yes!

Be sure to follow all of these amazing performers and catch their next show!

I also saw @joshjohnsoncomedy on the 16th but forgot to take pictures so here’s a Will Wood meme instead

In other news:
I auditioned for and was cast in Valleyscare’s Cryptidland again!
I quit my current retail job and got a different retail job in the same strip mall
I have no more money because I spent it all on band merch
