E no DNA dessas duas bandas, somado a sonoridade do Rock Anos 60 no Brasil, surgiu “CANÇÕES”.

Puta disco. Bate a saudade da minha infância. #reels #discos #lobão #rock #musica

On a rock, there sits a man lost in thought. Or perhaps he is not thinking at all and is instead letting the landscape around him fill his thoughts unconsciously. Werner Herzog’s 1976 film, Coeur De Verre (Herz aus Glas/Heart of Glass), has one of the director’s strongest opening set of images as the main character of the film sits in a foggy Bavarian landscape with life passing him by. There’s something in this sequence that defines Herzog’s practice as a filmmaker but also his state of mind; that destruction is inevitable but so is the continuation of the world around after it has occurred. Through these images of landscape and contentment, even as the character describes the social disintegration that Herzog is about to dramatise, Heart of Glass cannot help but remain optimistic, even when the society at the heart of the film is essentially foretold as doomed. It is in this sequence that Herzog’s particularly unusual brand of optimism can be seen; the optimism of our eventual absence. . Gerhard Augustin: “I saw the film Herz aus Glas (Coeur de Verre) and I found that not very much of your music was used. In the album with the same name of the film, Coeur De Verre, is Popol Vuh’s original album to be the soundtrack for the movie?” Florian Fricke: “It was different. Sometimes they’re produced for Werner Herzog’s work. Sometimes he came to my house and he asked please open your box, where I have my tapes from my productions. When we are listening to music, sometimes he lifts his finger and says this part of your music would be great music for a film. Sometimes we have done in a very short day and night, time in studio at the end of production from his movies, chosen the music like this. The special music for Coeur De Verre (Herz aus Glas) is Popol Vuh, but sometimes he needs music from Richard Wagner. But Richard Wagner never made film music for Werner Herzog.” . by Gerhard Augustin - Feb, 1996 . You have used the same song in several albums, though. For instance, on the albums Einsjaeger, Siebenjaeger (75), Last Days, Last Nights (76), Nosferatu (78), Agape, Agape (83) and now the latest album , the same song appears with different titles. Is there a reason for doing this? “I don’t make music for collectors; I make music for the people. When I release a piece that I love very much, be it in Germany, in Italy, or in France, and the record company then changes or no longer extists, I see it as my right to use the piece and go to an American company, where none of it has been heard. I take advantage of the vagaries of the industry. And why always ‘Little Warrior’? That’s the signature piece of the guitar player. If you think back to the early opo concerts, every group had a signature piece. If one wanted to announce a pause, this piece would be played. With us, it’s the guitar player, Daniel Fichelscher, who does that. And his piece is ‘Little Warrior’.” . What kind of experiences have you had with Popol Vuh that might be considered highlights in your career? “Well, if you ask me like that, I’d only like to say that there have been personal high points with the group for everyone involved. This was the case with Hosianna Mantra and Agape, Agape. Of course, there have been things during my music carer which have made me very happy, but it is not so much the exterior things that are as exciting as when musicians can play together, no matter what style. And that’s the most important thing in the life of a musician.” . - Florian Fricke by Augustin Luviano-Cordero I/e , nr.8, 1995, p.22-24 . "We told Warner Bros. we definitely wanted to sign, but we wanted to come out on our own label or an indie first and then grow organically from there. We said, 'We appreciate all the money you’re offering, but we need to come out on Triple X with a live record first.' I behaved like a prick and cussed out the entire record industry in the audience. I was telling everybody they needed to lose weight. I was like, ‘Fuck you all – you can all kiss our ass.’ It was typical overwrought histrionics, but we made sure to put on a great show because it was being recorded." - Perry Farrell Spin - Jun, 2003 . Did you take the cover photo for Durch Die Wüste? . Christine Martha Roedelius: "Yes, that was Joachim jumping into the sea in Corsica. I was so surprised - I didn’t expect him to jump in. And the title - “Through the Desert” - was so different from the image, it was a counterpoint (laughter). I was never able to jump down because it was from so high, and I was lucky that when I took the photo, there were these stars on the water. Corsica it’s like our second home. We went there every summer because Joachim once worked there as a physiotherapist. He also went there when he was in Human Being." Hans-Joachim Roedelius: "We had many friends in Corsica. We earned money selling oysters and fish soup on the beach." Christine Martha Roedelius: "It’s not so easy to do that nowadays (laughter)." - Tone Glow, 171 issue - Jan, 2025 .
