Guess who used to play in this place? None other than the Beatles.
When we got here, Help! was playing—the very first song of theirs I ever heard my nan sing.
I literally froze… 🥹
Now that’s what I call a proper Friday night, mate!!!!!!

📍 8. The Cavern Club - dove tutto è iniziato

Dentro è tutto a tema Beatles, cocktail compresi. Si trova al Baltic Market.

Mendips, Menlove Avenue.

“Penny Lane, the barber shaves another customer...” - ESISTE DAVVERO! È Tony Slavin, in Penny Lane.

Delighted to say I've been given a slot at Cavern Originals at the world famous Cavern Club in Liverpool!

Anyone that knows the history of tunes knows that The Cavern Club holds a massive place within that history. As the place where The Beatles honed their craft, and were later discovered there by Brian Epstein, over a million people a year make the journey there from all over the world.

Outwith The Beatles it's a pure who's who of artists that have played there, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Oasis, The Arctic Monkeys.

Cilla Black.

And then me and the 4 chords I know. At least I know the audience will be partial to an extended NA NA NA NA section within a song!

It's a massive deal to get to play such fucking hallowed ground, beyond buzzing man. And...the Cavern Lager is actually quite good as well.

Huge thank you to @lilinoestutz for inviting me along 🍻

Me playing The Cavern...mental man 😂

Wednesday the 11th of November!

Pop stars, punks and provocateurs: for more than sixty years, one northern city has set the pace for British music.

From Echo & the Bunnymen to Pete Burns, pop icons @melaniecmusic and @atomickittenofficial, modern masked rapper @esdeekid, and, of course, @thebeatles, Liverpool’s musical influence stretches across generations.

But its legacy goes far beyond the names that made it big. Home to legendary venue @cavernliverpool and the underground venues of the Baltic Triangle, the city’s grassroots scene continues to nurture new talent, push boundaries and make space for the next generation of artists.

Now, as the @youthmusicuk Awards head to Liverpool next week for the first time, we explore why this port city remains one of the most influential forces in UK music, and why its next chapter is just as exciting as its last.
