Dear baseball,

I never thought our time would come to an end, but that’s what happens to all good things. You were my first love ever since I could walk. We have had our fairest shares of ups and downs to the point where I hated you as much as I loved you. I truly gave you my all and wish there was more I could have done. You were my escape to where I was able to feel complete peace when I walked in between the foul lines. Baseball showed me grit and brotherhood through good and tougher times.

God, thank you for giving me the ability and opportunity to be a part of this beautiful game for the past 15 years. Any given moment when I was out there was never taken for granted. Everything has been done in your glory. Thank you for blessing me with lifelong friendships and no serious injuries.

To my teammates, friends and coaches, thank you for believing in me and providing constant support. I have been taught more than just the game. I have been shown how to keep going even when I felt that it wasn’t easy. Baseball is not easy. Baseball is like life.

To my family, I can never be able to thank y’all enough for the sacrifices made to get me to where I am today. I would never take back any late night or early wakeup. You have made my dreams come true by doing all possible to allow me to play at the ‘next level.’ Thank you for being my number one supporters. I love you guys.

Baseball, I am sure we will cross paths again, so this is not a goodbye. It’s a see you later.

Onto the next chapter: ILL-
