👑ALL HAIL KING KSB! 👑
I first met Kiell at the fringe in 2016. He came to my solo show and laughed VERY loudly, and I liked him IMMEDIATELY. So it’s fitting that the String V Spitta summer of love ended in Edinburgh. This was my 9th fringe. It’s where I’ve made my best friends, my worst hangovers, my best shows and my worst reviews (‘MacArthur’s constant asides feel like pointless showboating’ Exeunt magazine, 2013). It’s the city where I first told my wife I loved her (2016), where I accidentally got the Oxford Revue show cancelled by swearing at the venue owner because he gleefully refused to give me a glass of water before I went onstage with the Leeds Tealights (2011), it’s where my best mate George got thrown out of Pleasance Dome for being drunk and disorderly and tried to fool the bouncers by passing himself off as an elderly lady (either 2012, 2013 or 2014), and where he later pushed me into doing my first solo show (2019). This year it’s been my favourite fringe ever (the year is 2025), performing alongside the best partner you could dream of having. Ignore the multicoloured trousers; being in a double-act with Kiell is way cooler than it looks. He’s the most insanely impressive man I know. And I know Keanu Reeves! It’s the most thrilling thing imaginable to have developed this show with him and George since 2017, and I really hope this isn’t the end for SvS.

And finally, thank you to the brick, scholar, oarsman and all round ruddy good egg @klayzeflaymz - for showing me how to let go and actually have fun onstage (tequila), for smashing our shows to bits night after night, and for ALWAYS paying for my dinner. Long live KSB 🎉 God, I hope we’ll be back 💔

Apparently the Edinburgh Fringe is back

I forgot to upload the new poster for Absolute Monopoly last year when I was doing a full run.

BUT I am back for three days only in a much bigger room to get the show tour ready for 2026.
19 - 21 Aug, 3.05pm, Assembly Piccolo Tent. Come along; it'll be bigger and badder and more experimental.

The show sold out completely last year when I didn't post about so I am defying logic by posting about it now.

2/3 of the way through the Edinburgh Fringe photo dump

1) The infinite malleability of "The Glang Show" at Bedlam Theatre - I am somewhere in the middle.

2) "A Night with the Stars (Deceased)" - a new music hall themed historical cabaret hosted by myself and Eleanor Morton. Most fun you can have with an improvisational pianist. Eleanor sang a tragic song and I attempted to redraw the Treaty of Versailles.

3) "Absolute Monopoly" has been selling out its run. Working theory is because I no longer preface the title with my name.

4) Last week's cast of Late Night with Terry Wogan. Bustin'.

5) Finally saw "Funz and Gamez". Absolute scenes. Fringe highlight.

6) The ever charming, inventive and funny Jody Kamali as "Ironing Board Man".

7) Saw "A Genuine Appreciation of Comedy" by The Mayor and his Daughter - incredibly funny, complex, high concept sketch comedy. Lots of blink and you miss it details that I went nuts for. Can't wait to see their show next year.

8) Wrestling with Rosalie Minnitt and Luke Rollason for control of the seating arrangements at Alex Franklin's "Survivor! The Game! The Show! Live!", again one of our Bedlam Lates.

9) Absolutely slam dunk roasted on twitter by the former Attorney General of the United Kingdom.

10) Cara Compass, incredible director, tech and partner without whom Absolute Monopoly would be Absolutely Impossible. I value her every contribution to everything we do together.
