Bryant freshman Elijah Hayeems is a name to keep an eye on in the America East this season 📈

The 6’5” Bay Area native arrives at Bryant with an impressive high school resume. Hayeems earned McDonald’s All-American Game nominee honors during his time at Big Tyme Prep and delivered a 30-point performance in the state championship game, taking home MVP honors while leading his team to a title.

A versatile guard with great size, Hayeems has the ability to score at all three levels, create opportunities for his teammates and make an impact on both ends of the floor. His combination of athleticism, scoring ability and overall upside makes him an exciting addition to the Bulldogs’ backcourt.

With a big opportunity ahead of him in his first collegiate season, Hayeems has all the tools to become a serious name to watch in the America East. Don’t be surprised if the California native makes some noise at Bryant this year 🔥

Former Purdue star Trey Kaufman-Renn has officially signed with Kansas for the 2026-27 season.

The 24-year-old forward was selected 59th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2026 NBA Draft but never signed an NBA contract. After a legal battle with the NCAA, Kaufman-Renn secured additional eligibility through a court ruling, opening the door for a return to college basketball.

Kaufman-Renn averaged 14.2 points and 8.3 rebounds for Purdue last season and now joins Bill Self’s Jayhawks for his sixth year in college.

Should he be allowed to play this season?

Dan Hurley compares NIL in college basketball to a poker game 👀

Speaking at Big East Media Day, the UConn coach said it’s hard to know what programs actually spend, with coaches inflating what rivals pay and downplaying their own numbers. He said he looks at it “like it’s a poker game.”

Hurley said there’s a certain amount you need just to get in, wondering whether that number is $14 million or $18 million to reach a Final Four. He added there’s a going rate at certain positions for elite rosters.

Every team in last season’s Final Four spent more than $8 million, per Pete Nakos.
