Ants on a log — but make it cookies! 🐜😋👀 Inspired by the mid- to late-20th century North American snack of celery, peanut butter, and raisins, these charming illusion cookies were the Technical Bake for Picnic Week in Season 10 of @cbcbakingshow.

Instead of a fibrous stalk, this recipe challenges you to create an artistic representation out of short crust pastry. An airy peanut butter mousse stands in for the usual nut spread, while chocolate-coated peanut-raisin truffles play the pesky picnic invaders.

Guaranteed to be the only critters no one shoos away at your next picnic or cookie swap!

On October 4, 2026, I had the pleasure of attending this beautiful gala at @aritzia @a.okcommissary in Vancouver, invited through Townhalls. An evening celebrating local food, incredible B.C. chefs, farmers, and the community, all in support of Growing Chefs and food education for kids and families. 🤍

Loved discovering the thoughtful flavours, connecting with wonderful people, and seeing the lovely @seaciderhouse Sea Cider and @dirtylaundrywinery , @haywirewine and various BC wines featured throughout the evening. 🍎🥂

A beautiful reminder of how food brings people together and how supporting local can make a meaningful difference.
