“I always feel welcomed at APA events. I love that there are so many different ones the local board organizes - from museum trips, to artist talks at galleries to peer-to-peer critiques.”

- Annie Claflin

What an incredible week it was for CAVAD to close out the month of April. From the Film Festival to the Art Honors Exhibit, House of Interiors, Architecture Open House, portfolio reviews, exhibitions, awards and our final celebration together! CAVAD Week 2026 was a beautiful reminder of the creativity, community & Christ centered purpose that is defining our college.

And a special thank you to all of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, families, industry partners and guests who came out to support and celebrate the amazing work happening across CAVAD. We are beyond proud of our students and all they created this year.

We are already looking forward to next year!

Named in Two Tongues is a project about my own journey through the space between two cultures, which is usually symbolized by the hyphen (-) between the terms Vietnamese-American. A sign used to unite two words to generate a single meaning, in this case an identity. This project created a link between the past and the present, allowing me to better understand my family’s history and the identity that it represents in myself and other children of immigrants.

A lifelong project
