When my nephew asked us to help him with a PromPOSAL, it was an automatic yes from us and we made sure we got a YES from her! I put my fairy auntie hat on and went to work!

He picked out the theme (Tangled.. her favorite movie), him and her friends helped with making the lanterns, and it was his idea to dress up as Rapunzel.

I think he nailed it and of course she said YES! Share this if you think he understood the assignment too!

Upper body training for basketball is more than just bench press.

1. Single Arm Landmine Presses are great for shoulder strength and stability (think about going up with contact & finishing)

2. Pull Ups are mandatory for life. Thats all upper body strength and great for posture

3. Explosive Sled Pulls/Pushes were focusing on all power, conditioning and full body force production

4. Pushups are also mandatory. Great for functional strength and shoulder health

5. Shoulder Variations are going to be good for contact as well and also injury prevention

6. Pallof Presses were focusing on all core stability and rotational control ( think about staying solid on the block)

7. Kneeling Med Ball Throws is all about explosive power transfer for passes, shots and other athletic movements on the court.

Train for performance, not just aesthetics. 💯

If your lower body day doesn’t look like this, then you’re missing key piece to help you elevate your game.

1. Single Leg Box Squats helps build more unilateral strength & balance (think about in game movements)

2. Glute Bridge Iso Holds are going to be great for glute and hamstring activation. (Especially before your workouts)

3. Lateral Bounds as you can see are great for explosiveness & those side to side movements (think defense and cuts)

4. Elevated Reverse Lunges are going to be where we focus on our stability, overall control & joint strength

5. Nordics were trying to build hamstring strength to reduce injury and also improve speed.

Lower Body Essentials for Basketball Athletes ⚡️

If you’re a hooper and you’re not training like this, you’re leaving performance on the table.

Lower body days aren’t just about lifting heavy.
You need a combination of different exercises and movements that will translate over to the court.

1. Strength training overall is whats going to build force, power & durability to stay strong and solid on the court.

2. Change of direction + sprints are great to simulate in game speed & reaction timing. (How quickly can you change direction on defense so you don’t get beat)

3. Footwork such as ladder drills helps with having more control, balance & efficiency while playing

4. Plyos obviously helps with explosiveness & your overall vertical (We’re trying to play above the rim)

5. Core power/stability helps keep the body strong and stable (the goal is to be injury-free)

Train like an athlete, not just a bodybuilder 💯
