Chris Whitten (6’3” Guard) has officially signed with the YAKS Team in Peru. Chris comes to Peru after an impressive collegiate career at Central Christian College, where he established himself as a true bucket and one of the most prolific scorers in program history. Chris finished his collegiate career as Central Christian College’s all-time leading scorer with 1,949 career points. Last season, Chris averaged 21.2 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 1.5 APG, and 1.3 SPG across 28 games. A gifted scorer and athletic guard, Chris can get a bucket at all three levels—creating his own shot off the dribble, attacking and finishing at the rim, knocking down shots from the perimeter, and consistently putting pressure on opposing defenses. His ability to create offense, combined with his playmaking and competitiveness, gives the YAKS another dangerous weapon in the backcourt. After proving himself as an elite scorer throughout his college career, we’re excited to watch Chris take that scoring ability to the professional level and begin making his name internationally.

Welcome to Peru, Chris 🇵🇪!

5050SP- Athlete Spotlight-From an average freshman to a college scholarship athlete. 🏀🔥

Zubayr Carpenter’s journey is especially meaningful because Coach Sonja and Coach Thal had the opportunity to work with him every day as teachers and strength and conditioning coaches at Manual High School.

For three years, Zubayr committed himself to our Advanced Strength & Conditioning class and became a model of what the program can do for student-athletes who are willing to learn, work, and apply the details.

His development was not limited to the weight room. We focused on strength, speed, vertical jump, movement quality, nutrition, recovery, daily habits, confidence, and the mental side of becoming a complete student-athlete.

“I went from being just your average freshman to being above average in every athletic category—strength, vertical jump, speed, and more.”

Zubayr trusted the process, accepted coaching, and continued raising his standard. Now, he is beginning his freshman year on a basketball scholarship at Central Christian College in Kansas.

This is what makes coaching and teaching so rewarding. We had the opportunity to watch a young athlete recognize his potential, develop discipline, and turn consistent work into a college opportunity.

Zubayr, we are proud of the athlete and young man you have become. Continue representing Manual, your family, and yourself with purpose.

Attention to detail changed everything.
