We’ve had lots of Kraken baseball players in for services lately, and we love seeing them in the clinic! ⚾️💪
Brittany even jumped in alongside one of our Kraken players as he worked through his rehab program, following a workout designed by our athletic trainer. We love being part of the process of helping athletes get stronger and get back to doing what they love!

More Than Physical. 💚

This week is Student-Athlete Mental Health Week, and I wanted to be intentional about finding small ways to bring mental health awareness into the athletic spaces I work in.

Throughout the week, I’ll be encouraging my athletes to check in with their people (and themselves), prioritize recovery, fuel their bodies, show appreciation for their support systems, and of course, wear some green. 💚

As an athletic trainer, my job goes far beyond evaluating injuries, taping ankles, and getting athletes back on the field. We’re often one of the healthcare professionals athletes see the most, which gives us a unique opportunity to notice when something seems off, start conversations, and help connect them with the right resources.

I’ll be sharing some of the things I’m trying throughout the week as we remind our athletes that their mental health matters just as much as their physical health.

Because an athlete is always more than their physical performance. 💚

I’m excited and grateful to announce that I have committed to continue my academic and baseball career at Carteret Community College!

First, I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to play the game I love and for guiding me through this journey.

Thank you to my parents and family for believing in me, supporting me, traveling countless miles, and making so many sacrifices to help me chase this dream. I wouldn’t be here without you.

I’m incredibly thankful for every coach, teammate, trainer, and mentor who has invested in me along the way. Every practice, lesson, conversation, correction, and opportunity has helped shape me into the player and person I am today.

A special thank you to @ecabaseball, @h__degree , @coryscott, @bhill_nsr, and @nextleveltcnc. Each of you has invested in me, believed in me, challenged me, and helped me become a better player and person. I’m grateful for the role each of you has played in helping me reach this point.

Thank you to Head Coach Blake Herring (@abherring25) and the entire Carteret Community College coaching staff for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be part of what you’re building. From my first conversations with the staff, I felt like Carteret was a place where I could continue to develop, compete, and grow.

I’m grateful for every step of the journey that brought me here, but I know the work is just beginning.

I’m officially a Kraken! 🐙⚾️

The Kraken athletes gathered today for the first ever student-athlete orientation. They heard from college president Dr. Mancini, lined the hall to greet the faculty before their staff meeting, and ended with an all squad breakdown. It was a great day having the three teams together! #kraken #family #wearecarteret #ccckrakensoccer #ccckrakenbaseball #ccckrakenxc
