It truly takes a village—siblings, grandparents, cousins, coaches, and friends who become family. ❤️🏆

A huge thank-you to @sportsxposports for taking the time to honor not only our Metro Region Champions, but also the incredible village that supports them every step of the way. 📸✨

Bringing these athletes together with the family members and loved ones who believe in them made these photos even more meaningful. That kind of love and support builds limitless confidence—and when an entire town believes in you, the sky’s the limit! 🙌🏽💙

Every photo tells a story, and these photos show that our champions are surrounded by an abundance of love, pride, and support. 🏆⚾️📸

Well, sadly, Bayonne’s All-Stars amazing run, that started back in July, came to an end last night. After losing to Iowa on Sunday, they dropped to the losers bracket. Facing elimination against Ohio, their 6th inning rally fell short 5-2 ending their season at 15-2. It was a great run - Districts in Secaucus, Sectionals in Rutherford, States in Cresskill, Regionals in Bristol and now the Little League World Series in Williamsport.

It was amazing how everyone, not just Bayonne, but all over the state got behind Bayonne. So many people wearing “Bayonne vs Everyone” shirts. This will be a summer to remember. Chase and the boys will forget last nights game but will always remember what they did this summer!

Another night, another Little League championship. Tonight was Chase’s night as Bayonne 11U team defeated Caldwell/West Essex 8-4. They were tied 4-4 before Chase hit a monster 2-run homerun over the centerfield fence in the 3rd inning. So, with the win, Bayonne is now the Section 2 Champions and advance to the state playoffs next week - the top four teams in the state will play each other to determine a state champion - the tournament is being hosted in Teaneck.

Cole’s 8U team plays Bloomfield on Saturday in Garfield.

Tonight, I watched Cole Klimkowski and the Bayonne’s 8-Under All-Stars defeat the Elmora All-Stars 11-4 in the District 7 Championships in Buchmuller Park in Secaucus. Cole came in to the game in the 4th inning. For a skinny little kid with almost no body mass - when he throws the ball - you hear a loud pop in the catchers mit. No one was able to get around and hit the ball off him.

Congratulations to coach Ryan Klimkowski, the other coaches and all the 8u players. It was a good win and a somewhat pleasant evening weather wise. I didn’t have dinner so I stopped at Plaza Pizza 🍕 before the game.

Since we didn’t have hockey practice tonight - I stayed in school to watch our basketball team take on St. Peter’s Prep tonight. Ryan Klimkowski and Cole came up and joined us. Anna Schreiber made the trip from Bayonne also. Debbie De Leon sat with us also. Hudson Catholic Hawks with a huge double overtime win over rival #1 state ranked St. Peter’s Prep tonight in the Hawks Nest. The Hawks led by 11 at half time 36-25, but the Prep Maureders chiseled away at the lead and took their own 5-point lead late in the game. However, the Hawks fought back to tie it and force overtime. The Hawks came from behind again to force double overtime. The Hawks again fought from behind in double overtime to win 74-70.

Last Thursday, the Bayonne 10U All-Star team, with Chase pitching, won their Sectional Championship with a 13-3 victory over Rutherford. Now, they are off to play for the state championship next week.

The video of Chase’s ripping a double is great - watch the body language of the Rutherford catcher…. he gets so excited when Chase tries for third but when he’s called safe - total dejection …. too funny

I spent another hot afternoon at the Wood-Ridge Sports Complex today (beautiful facility) as the Bayonne 10U All-Stars took on the Rutherford All-Stars. Chase pitched a 1-hit shutout as Bayonne won 11-0. They beat Palisades Park yesterday - so they advance to the championship game Wednesday night.

Ryan and I met up with Hudson Catholic hockey and baseball star Ryan Knapp ‘99 and his son Brayden at the game.

Happy Birthday Ryan Klimkowski (it’s actually tomorrow)! I was invited to join the family at San Vito’s for the birthday celebration dinner. It was a great night and I had a fabulous time - and of course the food was awesome as usual. I think the Chicken San Vito is replacing the Chicken Rollatini as my go-to dinner here. Of course, I ate too much - so I’ll be walking in the morning. #sanvitosbayonne

I spent the last two nights at the Hoboken Little League in Stevens Park watching Chase and the Bayonne 10-U All-Stars take on Secaucus for the District 7 Championship. Secaucus won the first game in a 4-3 walk-off in the bottom of the 6th. Bayonne came back last night with a convincing 9-1 win to take the championship (Bayonne was in the winners bracket and only had to win one game). Now they move on to play Wood-Ridge this weekend.

It’s Bring Your Child to Work Day so I brought my nephew Cole to Hudson Catholic with me today. We both had a great time. He found his dad Ryan Klimkowski ‘98 picture on the alumni wall outside the cafeteria. He met Mr. Gazzale, one of his Ryan’s former teachers. Also, Ms. Allison Ryan, who went to school with Ryan and is now a Guidance Counselor - and who brought her daughter with her today. Lunch was chicken wings and French fries.
