Dr. Carl Brueggemann was the north star of what it means to be a Colonel. His love for Covington Catholic was second to none. This excerpt of the video that accompanied his Northen Kentuckian of the Year Award encapsulates Doc's feelings towards Covington Catholic more than anyone else's words possibly could. Dr. Brueggemann's funeral will be held this Saturday, April 18th at St. Agnes. The Mass will begin at 11 AM. After Mass, everyone is welcome to stop by a celebration of life reception right here at Covington Catholic. The thoughts and prayers of the Covington Catholic community are with the Brueggemann family, it will always be an honor to have Doc in the ranks of our alumni.

Please join us in praying for the repose of the soul of Dr. Jack Brueggemann (CCH '49), who went home to his Maker today. His passing took place at The Hour of Mercy on Good Friday. What a fitting end for a great man so dedicated to his Catholic faith. In the history of Covington Catholic High School, it would be hard to find a single soul who has committed more time, energy, and personal resources to the mission of our school and to the service of others. He was truly a singular individual. Well done, good and faithful servant! Known, among other things, for leading the football team before and after every football game in praying to Our Blessed Mother, please take a moment today to join us all in praying two Hail Mary's in his intention. May the souls of the faithful, departed, rest in peace. Amen.
