Everybody tells you to vote, but nobody really tells you why.

Well, here’s one reason: YOUR MONEY.

Because candidates aren’t the only things on the ballot this election. Your wallet is, too.

From the taxes you pay to the cost of housing, public transportation, and the funding of programs in your community, the people we elect make decisions that directly impact our pockets.

So whether you care about politics or not, politics has a way of showing up in your bank account.

Before you sit this election out, ask yourself: Can you afford not to pay attention?

Election Day is November 3rd. Make a plan, know what’s on your ballot, and get out and vote!

🚨 ELECTION MYTH ALERT: Don't believe everything you see on social media!

You may have seen posts claiming that if an election worker writes on your ballot, your vote won't count.

That's FALSE.

The N.C. State Board of Elections has confirmed that election workers may write on ballots for legitimate reasons, including identifying precincts and processing certain ballots. These markings do not invalidate your vote.

With early voting beginning today, Oct. 15, let's make sure OUR communities have the facts.

✅ Don't spread election misinformation.
✅ Don't request a new ballot simply because a poll worker wrote on it.
✅ Get accurate election information at NCSBE.gov.

Know the facts. Protect your vote. Share this post!

Donut forget your voice matters! 🍩🗳️

Putting what I learned at our Common Cause retreat into action! 💗 On September 29, I continued my work as a Common Cause NC Fellow by tabling outside the cafeteria, helping students register to vote, and sharing information about this year’s election.

Students who were already registered or registered at our table received a donut, and we also shared buttons, water bottles, and stickers with students stopping by!

Being Miss Senior and a Common Cause Fellow gives me the opportunity to serve my fellow Bears and help our campus stay informed and involved. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and registered. Your voice matters, and so does your vote! 🐻👑
