The biggest, most heartfelt congratulations to my dear friend and colleague @bibidoodles for being named as a finalist for the MCV/Develop 2026 Women in Games Awards in the Creative Impact category. She is one of the hardest working, motivated, kind and compassionate people I know and this recognition is so well deserved - even if she does support Caldari! 🎉♥️

Pro-Tip to anyone considering delivering a big on-stage presentation in front of thousands of people: Do it with your friends. It never feels like work, you always feel supported and you know you can trust them to have your back if you forget what you are supposed to say or vice versa the whole way through. ✨

Kotaku’s Kenneth Shepard tuned into Fenris Creations’ EVE Online stream, where FC CapitalCowPilot, a real Icelandic cow, took on one of gaming’s most notoriously complex MMOs.

EVE Online × René Magritte — The Happy Donor

For this piece, I created a surreal EVE Online photomontage inspired by René Magritte’s The Happy Donor (L’Heureux Donateur), painted in 1966.
The composition was created entirely through manual photomontage and digital compositing in Adobe Photoshop. I combined several classical oil-painting night skies to build the cosmic background, then reconstructed Magritte’s iconic bowler-hatted silhouette and the twilight landscape within it — including the forest and the illuminated house.
Inside the figure’s chest, at the place of the heart, I introduced a galaxy, transforming the human silhouette into a vessel containing an entire universe.
The Endurance, one of EVE Online’s distinctive expedition frigates, was then carefully isolated and composited into the scene, flying beyond the boundaries between reality, imagination, Earth and New Eden.
At the bottom of the composition, I also retained and reinterpreted the mysterious planetary element from Magritte’s original visual language, connecting the surreal terrestrial world with the vastness of space.
My intention was to bring together Magritte’s poetic surrealism and the universe of EVE Online — a world where the boundaries between the known and the unknown can disappear as easily as the boundary between a man and the universe he carries within himself.

I've created this vector illustration in Adobe Illustrator, with some minor edits in Adobe Photoshop, inspired by the Fauvist art style and the distinguished artist Henri Matisse.

Fauvism is an early 20th-century French art movement known for bold, expressive colors and painterly qualities over realistic representation.

Henri Matisse’s Fauvist works, such as Woman with a Hat (1905) and The Open Window, Collioure (1905), are characterized by:

• Bold, non-naturalistic colors rather than realistic colors
• Strong contrasts between complementary and saturated colors
• Simplified, flattened forms with little concern for realistic depth
• Expressive and decorative compositions
• Emphasis on color and visual impact over realistic representation

For the subject of my illustration, I chose the Drake, a Caldari Empire battlecruiser from EVE Online, and reinterpreted it through the Fauvist art style. I aimed to preserve the ship’s recognizable design and the visual identity of EVE Online while expressing it through Fauvist principles, particularly bold colors, strong contrasts, simplified forms, and a decorative composition.

These qualities can also be seen in my illustration through its highly saturated color palette, which I created myself, as shown in the Adobe Illustrator environment in my process video. The palette was inspired by Matisse’s Fauvist paintings, featuring strong orange–blue and purple contrasts, simplified geometric forms, flattened spaces, and decorative plant elements.

Eve Online Webcomic 🎨
I spent more than a week working on this piece and put a lot of time and effort into bringing it to the best version I could.

I started with hand-drawn sketches, developing both the story and the visuals from my own ideas while staying true to the spirit and identity of EVE Online. The video also shows the real EVE ships that inspired my visualizations.

The entire comic was painted traditionally on A3 cardboard with acrylic and gouache.
After scanning, I added the dialogue boxes and made final adjustments in Photoshop.

Hope you enjoy the process and the final result. Thank you for watching! ✨️

The art design for Eve Frontier a space survival MMO is insane and conveys a scale that is jaw-dropping! CCP Games built it on a blockchain framework integrating crypto tokens to facilitate a player-driven economy and real-world asset exchange - craziness!
