Blue Jacket made its mark in LA. 💙

A powerful night at the Blue Jacket Fashion Show bringing together fashion, familiar faces and an important message around prostate cancer awareness and early detection.

Proud for Man Cave Health to be part of the evening—with our UCI Health Van Cave on property and our work in LA beginning earlier in the community, screening men at the Crenshaw YMCA.

From community screening to a national stage, it’s all part of the same mission: meeting men where they are and making early detection more accessible.

Early detection saves lives.

Frederick Anderson SS27 clothes were beautiful, but there was something much bigger being said. 🇺🇸✨

Opening with @allisonrussellmusic performing Eve Was Black immediately set the tone.

From there, @frederickanderson_designer explored American fashion through his own lens — drawing from Indigenous and African influences and grounding the collection in raffia, silk, crochet, florals and some seriously beautiful texture 💯👌

I always notice the styling details: sheer knits, dramatic skirts, lace against brocade, incredible movement and just enough sexiness to keep everything from feeling too precious.

The finale shifted into all white — purity, optimism and the idea that there’s always a way forward.

Fashion with a point of view will always hit differently.

Which look would you steal straight off the runway? 👀👇

𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 delivered an outstanding collection for Spring-Summer 2027 — this time inviting us into his garden.

The garden-party theme, complete with models carrying oversized straw market bags overflowing with fresh hydrangeas, was conceived as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration. Beneath the charm, however, Anderson was thinking about American identity.

“You are all guests in my rich garden, cause like me you are all descendants of immigrants,” Anderson wrote in his program notes. “What is known as American style was influenced by all the people who have migrated and built lives here.”

He translated that idea into color, texture and craft: floral-print organza, hand-crocheted dresses and separates, supple napa leather, embroidered chiffon gowns recalling Tiffany stained glass, and lush floral tweeds that looked like Lyonnais silk jacquards.

The show closed with white dresses and ensembles — an optimistic shift.

“It was about purity,” Anderson told Vogue. “There’s always a way to rebound, and to look forward at the future.”

For the record, Anderson makes most of the patterns for his collections, cuts most of the pieces, and manufactures much of his fashions in NYC!

Anderson, whose sister was in the audience, dedicated the show to his father, who died from injuries sustained while fighting in American wars.

I purposely did not edit the music in this reel. Music always plays a role on Anderson’s runways, but here it told a story, rather than embellish a theme.

Grammy- and Juno Award-winning musician Allison Russell opened with “Eve Was Black” and returned at the close for “We Are Not Alone,” from the 2019 debut album of Our Native Daughters, the roots music supergroup featuring Russell, Rhiannon Giddens, Leyla McCalla and Amythyst Kiah — artists I think of as Americana anthropologists.

American folk music, with roots in immigrant traditions and the work songs of enslaved people, ran throughout. And then, for the finale: “Some Nights” by Fun.

A garden party on the surface; but a personal reflection A garden party on the surface; but underneath, a personal reflection on Black, immigrant and American identity.

Frederick Anderson’s SS27 collection felt like we were celebrating in a garden. Full of spring tones like pink and green, along with the models carrying baskets full of flowers down the runway, the show was the perfect ending to NYFW. thank you for having us @frederickanderson_designer @ccprnyc
