If you’d like to meet people from different cultures and connect with refugees and people seeking asylum in our local community, get involved in our Conversation Club and Youth Club volunteering opportunities! SOUNDWAVE SOUNDWAVE SOUNDWAVE! ⭐️ where do we begin. firstly, thank you SO much to everyone for your engagement and interest in Soundwave - this has truly been a love letter to student creativity. Soundwave has been an enduring labour of love, and so shoutout to the teams at @ccswarwick @black.untitled @3.16works for your efforts and time spent 💐 Soundwave is a celebration of the Caribbean and its vibrancy. Through the categories of singing, dancing, spoken word and rap, we created a production that centred students. University doesn’t always push creativity - for instance, universities like Warwick are known for their academia and STEM focus. We thank @ceebosweezy and @3thadon who came from societies like black untitled and were able to hone their skills in performance. we also thank @ccswarwick for identifying the lack of representation of Caribbean artistry in the industry and pushing us to fill that gap. This production supported two charities: MACA, the Medway African and Caribbean Association, which promotes awareness of Afro-Caribbean culture through social programmes and the arts, and also ACAP, which focuses on educating young people of Afro-Caribbean descent. Our key aim with Soundwave is to promote, push and platform young creatives, and this is just the start ⭐️ to our finalists @itsrlly_jamz @tobirenii @m1rab3l_ @mich3ll3h_ , thank you so much for showcasing your talent, we hope you feel rewarded from the process and can’t wait to follow your journeys! shoutout to @itsrlly_jamz for winning overall 🥳 thank you to our special guests @nin0nat and @cielmri for killing it as always 🔥 thank you so much to our guest judges @komali_ldn @kervkiala @josephjppatterson @antoniafrancisx @unkle.tc for your commitment to growth and development 🚀 til next time, watch this space!
