Join the Centennial Institute for our upcoming Last Lecture event with Dr. David Kotter, Dean of the School of Theology.

In his lecture, Dr. Kotter distills a lifetime of lessons into one essential truth: our lives on earth are but a dot, while eternity stretches as a line without end. Drawing from personal stories, biblical wisdom, and practical habits, he shows how the ordinary choices we make every day—how we eat, read, work, spend, and serve—shape not only the course of our lives but ripple into eternity. With both reminders of life’s brevity and the hopeful promise of life everlasting in Christ, this talk invites students to anchor their days in what truly lasts.

Dr. Seth Rodriguez is the Associate Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Archaeology in the School of Theology. Dr. Rodriguez has a bachelors in biblical studies, a master’s in divinity, a master’s in old testament archaeology, and a Ph.D. in Old Testament Archaeology and History.
Rodriguez first found his love for archaeology through a semester abroad in Israel during his undergraduate degree. Since then he has made seven trips to Israel and spent over nine months of his life there! Every year Rodriguez leads a trip of CCU students to the country, excavating biblical sites and getting hands-on experience in the land of the Bible.
Rodriguez continues to be involved in uncovering biblical history in Israel through numerous societies and projects. He is a board member and secretary of Near East Archaeological Society, a member of Evangelical Theological Society, and a Square Supervisor of the Tell es-Safi/Gath Excavation Project.
Dr. Rodriguez teaches at CCU for one main reason, “I am fulfilling the calling of God in my life. That’s why I’m here every day, that’s why I pour myself into my students. I’m using the spiritual gifts God has given me. I am fulfilling my ministry.” He continues, “Instead of being a pastor over a church, God made me a professor over students, it’s not just a job for me.” We are so grateful to have Dr. Rodriguez’s passion and expertise at our university!
