VOTE FOR ME!! 🗳️ VOTE!! 🗳️
I don’t usually do online voting competitions but this one supports a great cause close to my heart and career— the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, a nonprofit organization that builds interactive media and broadcast centers (known as Seacrest Studios) in pediatric hospitals
.
In 2011, when my speech was impaired for a year, I wasn’t sure if I’d ever feel comfortable speaking in a public forum again. Parkinson’s medication gave me my speech back, but I’ve had an intense fear of public speaking ever since. I’ve only given four public speeches since: two TEDx talks and two funeral eulogies for my parents. This TOP HOST competition is a long shot, based on a national public vote, but they reached out to me, and this is me saying FEAR will NOT define me.
.
I’d appreciate if you’d vote for me with one free vote daily. A donation to the charity this supports allows more votes. The prize is $25,000, an appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s podcast and a six episode professional podcast of my own with iHeart radio. Taking a chance on me for a good cause! Never Give Up. 🎙️ ⭐️ 📺 Please share the contest and link in my bio with your peeps!! 🙌🏽 photo: @kremerjohnsonagain

A Decade + 1: Celebrating 11 Years of @california_thor! 🎉
.
Today marks 11 years since I posted this very first photo (flexing at my desk with Thor on November 29, 2014!) and started this wild, unexpected journey.
.
In the toughest years of my life, the CaliforniaThor™️ Instagram experience has been a fun, crazy, and very unexpected blessing. It started as a random, late night idea while I was on fall break from work staying with my parents in a beach-front, military hotel in Coronado, California. It ended up being a place I shared my story of fighting a neurological problem and life on energy-draining Parkinson’s medication, plus where I introduced and celebrated my superhero parents with the world.
.
This Instagram page has been a place where I find motivation and encouragement on a daily basis. I know there are a lot of bad things about social media, but I’ve found if you only put out positive messages on social media that is at least 90% of what you’ll receive in return. Thank you to everyone who has joined in on this journey of faith, family, and fitness with me. Never Give Up. 💪🏽🔨⚡️
.
A special thanks to the handful of my friends and family in real life who’ve also followed along, supported and stayed with me on the Instagram journey too.

🎉 10 YEARS 🎉
.
Today marks a decade as a sponsored athlete with @metabolicnutrition! My fitness journey started as a less than a 100-pound teen struggling to gain weight, attempting workouts and trying supplements. In my 20s, as a TV reporter, I tested a fitness program for a series, and that commitment stuck. But at 40, when a neurological speech issue led to energy-draining Parkinson’s meds, the gym became more than just fitness—it became my daily fight to stay strong mentally, physically, and emotionally. Early morning workouts gave me the boost I needed to push through, and they still do today.

In 2015, @jess_rakow found me on IG and invited me to be her first athlete pick for the new @metabolicnutrition’s “league of superheroes.” The company’s support—especially from @ceojayc and @bethecohen —has helped fuel my progress ever since. I still remember calling my parents with the news, a bright moment in the middle of my mom’s cancer fight. We laughed at the irony—me, the least athletic one in the family, now a sponsored athlete! The 17-year-old me who faced ridicule for being underweight and unathletic was blown away.
.
Now, as a former TV reporter and a 24-year teaching veteran, I’ve fought through life’s challenges with faith, family, and fitness. And this part of the journey is an incredible, God-driven chapter in my story, and I’m grateful for it all. Never Give Up. ✝️❤️💯

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
