We'd like to stress the importance of community and being involved no matter where you live/work.

Last night we went to our neighborhood meeting that @alcosan put on to learn more about the water tunnel projects they are starting and how itll effect our neighborhood. Since we work from home and a good chunk of the project will be within 300-400 ft from where we live we wanted to make sure we heard what they had to say and ask any questions we needed.

We look forward to their work in our community and making our 3 rivers cleaner!

Communities grow with time, patience and the right people who believe that it can happen.

@homesbylevel is doing just that. What started as a conversation years ago is now coming true all thanks to Jason and the community and people who believed in his vision.

We are thankful for our part of the Level Community and our home here in Mckees Rocks and now we're super excited to see new homes completed with more families ready to take the step into homeownership.

Change takes time, and there are always haters out there, but it you stick with it, support each other, little by little you will see the difference and thats what we’re most excited about for our community.

Did you know that you can find African food in the Pittsburgh area at Fabs Restaurant in McKees Rocks?

It was my first time trying egusi and I loved how flavorful it was! I was terrible at eating it with my hands which just means I need to come back and practice! I was also a big fan of the lightly sweet puff puff and I definitely want to come back to try more menu items. Put this spot on your to go list!

What we got:
🥣 Egusi Soup - made from ground seeds of the Egusi melon, with goat, served with pounded yam
🍚 Jollof Rice - served with fried plantains and choice of protein (we chose goat!)
🍩 Puff Puff - a beloved West African street food snack, essentially a fried yeast donut hole

Susan from @dollar.bank invited this future homeowner to our event to meet with the LEVEL team, including Albert Edmunds, @cdcrocks Community Engagement Manager. We discussed her goals and her journey, and how LEVEL could help her achieve her dream of owning a home.

After the event, her and Jason Tigano—LEVEL's founder and CEO—took a walk on Woodward Ave to envision the reality of putting down roots in The Rocks and raising her family in this community.

Lots going on in the District today! We followed the Easter Bunny to McKees Rocks for the April Fools Celebration! Food, music, and fun until 6 pm.

After dealing with some technology issues, I can finally share the rest of the allegheny highlights. So I'm sharing 2 communities in this post that are not often recognized but very much an area many spend leisure time in.

Living right near 376 parkway, me and my family would often go to Monroeville for some fun or business. Recently I've noitice a growing black population in this area and look forward to seeing what the future holds for this community. Even though I'm not as familiar with McKees Rock their hisotry is very know and I'm grateful to know more of it's indigenous roots that I think more people should know about too.

Both communities are pillars of our county, and the 6 people highlighted are keeping them standing strong. #AlleghenyBlackHistory
