These awards are not only celebratory, but also highlight how people can be part of nature’s recovery. It’s a message that @ifawglobal holds at the centre of everything they do.

The work of the 2026 Animal Action Award winners is often thankless, faces endless pushback, is expensive, dangerous, and much of the time, highly experimental. But they do it anyway.

I am incredibly honoured to have been in the same room as them and to have had the chance to present Rachael with her award.

We must continue the fight for a natural world that we exist in harmony with, a natural world that has the support of humanity to recover and thrive.

Please support IFAW in any way you can to keep the good work going 🌍 #ad #wildlife #conservation #science

🐾 A huge congratulations to our member Texa and Sgiath!

We’re delighted to celebrate Sgiath receiving the IFAW Animal Action Animal of the Year Award; a fantastic and well-deserved achievement!

It’s wonderful to see the work of our members recognised alongside such an inspiring group of people making a real difference for animals and nature.

Conservation detection dogs are an exciting and growing field, but there is so much hard work behind the scenes, from training and testing to ensuring dogs are deployed responsibly, safely and effectively in the field.

Achievements like this help shine a light on the important role ecology detection dogs can play in conservation and biosecurity, both here in the UK and internationally.

Congratulations again to Sgiath on this incredible recognition! 👏🐾
