POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I heard a story in church last Sunday about a missionary serving in Africa who came down with malaria. And it hit him HARD.

He was so sick. Hallucinating. Spiraling. His condition was so serious that his family was called and told to expect the worst.

They fasted. They prayed. They begged God to save their boy.

And the story ended beautifully. The missionary recovered. He came home whole. In one piece. His family got their boy back. Their prayers were answered.

And I sat there listening to that story with tears streaming down my face thinking…

Why?

I will never understand how He chooses.

Which prayers to answer. Which miracles to give. Which boys to send home to their families.

And which ones to take - leaving their families shattered. Wrecked. Broken into pieces. Never whole again.

This has always been the part I struggle with the most.

Why was that mom’s prayer answered while I’m left asking God every night - “Can you hear me?”

People tell me Haze was too good for this world. And maybe that’s true.

But he belonged here.

He belonged with us. Making our house a home. Brightening everyones day. Making us laugh harder. Love harder. Serve each other more.

My kids know what Christlike love feels like because of Haze.

And now he’s gone.

Our hearts are broken.

I still believe in a loving Heavenly Father.

I do.

Even when I don’t understand. Even when I’m broken. Even when I kneel down with tears streaming down my face. I turn up toward Him, begging Him to help us.

I don’t even know what “help” means anymore.

I just know I need it.

So I’ll keep asking.

And maybe that’s what faith looks like for me right now.

Not having answers. Not understanding. Not pretending this makes sense.

Just continuing to turn toward Him while my heart is breaking.

I’ll always question the why.

Knowing that no answer will ever be good enough.

I needed him. Here with us.

I needed just one miracle.
