Maumere to Alor, Indonesia 🇮🇩

10 days. An explosion of life beneath the surface.

OCEAN. FEEL. LOVE. AWAKE. ALIVE. 🐠

This is why I dive, why I photograph, and why our ocean deserves protection.

Thank you @divedamai for an amazing experience!

When Art Meets Peek-a-Boo
————————————————

Who says macro photography is just about getting close to a tiny subject?

Sometimes, it’s about hiding it. it’s about letting the foreground steal the show. And usually , it’s about playing with light, colours, blur and bokeh until a simple little creature becomes something entirely different.

And here’s the thing…
you don’t always need colourful lights, fancy bling-bling or a complicated setup to create an amazing image. Sometimes, it’s simply about how your eyes perceive a scene,
how you see the light, and how you choose to interpret what’s right in front of you.

These are some of my macro moments from Alor, Indonesia. From a Coleman shrimp and a peacock mantis shrimp with eggs to a Halimeda pipefish, a Thor amboinensis shrimp and an Armina scotti nudibranch.

Nothing extraordinary about the size of these subjects. But look closer… there’s a whole world waiting to be discovered.

For me, creative macro photography isn’t always about showing everything. It’s about deciding what to reveal, what to hide, and leaving just enough for the viewer to explore.

A little peek here, a little boo there. Hahahaha!

Because sometimes, the magic isn’t in the equipment or the colours we add. It’s in the way we see.

2026, we’ve been full of surprises! Whaleshark with schooling Baracudda in single frame🐋🐳🫍💙

Three different months. Three incredible encounters. Three unforgettable moments with wild whale sharks! 🌊✨

Yes, you heard that right! We’ve been lucky enough to encounter wild whale sharks THREE times this year! 😍

The ocean never stops surprising us, and the best memories always come when we least expect them. 💙

Three encounters and counting… Who knows what surprise the ocean has for us next? 🦈✨

10 DAYS.
MAUMERE → ALOR, INDONESIA 🇮🇩
On the liveabord @divedamai

One of the BEST crossings I’ve ever done!

10 days of reef explosions, crazy marine life, and underwater moments that just kept getting better…

BUTTTT… nobody warned me about the WATER TEMPERATURE. 🥶😂
19–25°C!!! Weiiiii !

At some point I was no longer diving…
I was slowly becoming a frozen underwater photographer.

Cold body. Happy heart. Very full memory cards and 1TB to be exact ! Blame the videos ….
