Veggie Tales: CU LAX Edition

On Saturday, April 4th, the Roskot family returned to Baker Athletics Complex for the second annual Kathleen Roskot alumnae game.

Kathleen was a 1998 Bay Shore All-American who fulfilled her dream of playing Division I lacrosse at Columbia before being tragically killed by her boyfriend in 2000 during her sophomore year. This year and every year moving forward, teammates select one player to wear Kathleen’s jersey #13, and this season, Cece Messner earned that honor for embodying Kathleen’s spirit. The tribute is woven into Columbia’s One Love game, a domestic violence prevention initiative, while the KAR Foundation carries Kathleen’s legacy forward through scholarships guided by her motto: “It’s a great day to get better.”
