The plan was reading. The reality was coffee, pastries, a deck overlooking the water, and a conversation with a stranger who turned out to be exactly the kind of person you needed to meet that day. No regrets.

Before the sequel drops in September, Andrea and I went to find the magic where it all began — Coupeville, Washington, the town where @practicalmagicmovie was filmed.

We walked the main drag with the Chamber of Commerce location guide in hand, visited every shop, bought some merch, got ice cream, and ate so many mussels at Toby’s Tavern. We stood at the edge of Penn Cove and just breathed it in. Sally’s shop is now a Mexican restaurant. The sisters would have approved — midnight margaritas and all.

The Owens house itself was built on another island for the shoot and torn down when filming wrapped. It was never meant to last. But Coupeville doesn’t need it; the town carries the atmosphere all on its own. The water, the Victorian storefronts, the salt air, the quiet magic of a place that knows its story.

Coupeville delivered the vibe, we brought the magic within ourselves 🖤✨

Hi, I’m Cécile!
I joined Bookstagram a few months ago and I’ve been slowly finding my rhythm—creating content, sharing the books I love, and dreaming up my next TBR stack.

I want to build a little corner of the internet where I can find more book besties and we can all yap about books and gush about the stories that move us together. 🫶

If we haven’t met yet—let’s change that! Drop a little fact about you below so I can get to know you too. 💬👇

It was 97F (36C) yesterday, so I went to the coffee shop to cool down.

I got a delish iced matcha latte, a buttery einkorn shortbread, and did some “adult” reading. It was all non-fiction, personal development and life improvement. I also went on a quest for a good shaded hike to do here in LA until we have perfect temps again. 10/10 afternoon.

Color-coordinating outfits to books we are currently reading… is this a thing? Should it be a thing? (I vote yes 🙋‍♀️) Are we doing this now? 👀
