After 11 years, I am leaving WDET. I’ve been incredibly lucky to spend those years helping shape the sound of the station and representing the sonic landscape of Detroit over the airwaves. That has always felt like an important mission to me because I truly believe the voices, stories and music of Detroit are some of the most important in the world. Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to do a little bit of everything, crafting theme songs and the sonic identity of the station, building music shows, creating fundraising campaigns, recording countless bands and artists, interviewing people from our community, and finding ways to use sound and music to tell Detroit’s story. I’ve always believed deeply in that work. Detroit is one of the most important cities in the world, and I’ve tried every day to make sure the incredible people creating that culture had a place on our airwaves. I’m excited to share that I’m going to continue that mission at Michigan Public, where I’ll be joining the team as a producer. I’m really looking forward to continuing to champion the voices, stories, music and culture of Detroit and bringing them to listeners on the largest public radio network Michigan and reaching beyond the Metro Detroit region. I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve been able to create over these 11 years and especially proud of the people I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside. Thank you to my colleagues at @wdetdetroit , to all of the artists, musicians and community members who trusted me to help tell their stories, and to everyone who has listened and supported the station over the years. It’s been an important chapter of my life. On to the next one.
