10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking your teenagers to @bahnnewbraunfels by yourself and then convincing your girlfriends to come with you the next time. Kids are optional. Schlitterbahn Shenanigans at this age and stage of life…so.much.fun.😅☀️🌊💦🎢

Find your tribe. Love them HARD. Blessed to have this tribe of strong, smart, beautiful to their core, fun, loving, caring, kind, empowering, uplifting…and so much more…women by my side. We aren’t childhood friends and I am certainly the old lady in the bunch, but each and every one of them came into my life at just the perfect time. I honestly could not imagine navigating life without them. ♥️💪🏼✨🥰

Vacation Bible School is something special.

It’s a chance for children of all ages to learn about our amazing and loving God in a way they’ll never forget.

It’s a time when people come together with one goal: creating joy.

We decorate with plastic tablecloths, crumpled paper, pool noodles, paint, and imagination. We turn ordinary rooms into extraordinary places. We use simple snacks to teach Bible lessons. We play crazy games, sing silly songs, dance without worrying how we look, and create crafts that help children remember God’s promises long after the week is over.

And every year, dozens of volunteers show up to make it happen.

Many give their time. Some give their talents. Some even spend their own money. Why?

Because someone once did it for us.

Someone took the time to teach us that God loves us unconditionally. Someone helped plant seeds of faith in our hearts. And now it’s our turn.

Tonight we welcomed 19 children and more than 35 volunteers. Our youngest participant was just 18 months old. Our oldest volunteer was considerably older. Yet somehow, by the end of the night, we all felt like kids again.

When you see these smiles, you’ll understand why we’ll keep decorating with plastic tablecloths, singing songs about Jesus, and transforming our church into places where children can discover God’s love.

Because these moments matter.

And because we hope this generation will one day carry on the tradition long after we’re gone.

💚 Day 1 of Rainforest Falls VBS is in the books… and our hearts are already full.

🌿🐒 VBS VOLUNTEERS… WE MAY HAVE BEEN TAKING NOTES! 🐒🌿

As we get ready for Rainforest Falls VBS, we’ve been busy creating some very special volunteer awards. 🏆😂

From “Sloth Speed Award” to “Sweetest Volunteer”, “Chameleon Award”, and a few others we’re not revealing just yet… let’s just say some of these awards hit suspiciously close to home! 👀

The question is…

🤔 Who do YOU think will receive which award?

Drop your guesses in the comments below! ⬇️

Will someone earn the Sloth Speed Award? 🦥
Who is our Preschool Favorite? 🦜
Who always blends into the background until they’re suddenly saving the day? 🦎

No spoilers, volunteers! 🤫

We’ll reveal the winners during VBS weekend, and trust us… there will be plenty of laughs along the way.

❤️ We couldn’t do VBS without our incredible team of volunteers. Every one of them has helped transform our church into a rainforest adventure where kids will discover just how much God loves them. We can’t wait!!!!

CrossFit girls in the wild 💪😂

Forever grateful for this crew of strong, slightly unhinged women who think “fun” includes burpees and sore legs for 3–5 business days.

And shoutout to our birthday queen @because4woodsboys out here turning 50 and still outlifting half the gym. Honestly, she’s making 50 look like the new 30 and we’re just trying to keep up 🎉🔥

Started the week off shoveling snow off of my fully covered, non-drivable rental car with my bare hands at 4am after a massive snow storm hit the Northeast {IKIK, not my smartest move 🥶🤦🏻‍♀️}. Made it back home safely after a full day of travel and zero sleep to 85 degree weather and a fun surprise my Eli decided to do the moment he walked in the door from track practice. Oh Eli!! 😱 #myboys

Hit the ground running…Carved out my favorite time of the day with my favorite people so that I could be the best version of myself in order to take care of everyone else; took my Dad to have his eye surgery done {no more glasses for this handsome gentleman 🤩} and then TRACK!!! It’s BASEBALL + TRACK season, y’all! ⚾️🏃🏻💨🥏🤾🏻💪🏼

The question I get on repeat lately:
“Hey, Denise, what’s it like only having 2 of your #4woodsboys home now??”

Crazy, scary, spooky, hilarious, chaotic and beautiful. Not much has changed other than I’m back to burning holes in the highway {my littles don’t drive yet}, the amount of food we have to cook now and the amount of travel we are bracing ourselves for next fall. Wait till you see that schedule x 4…Send Help!!! 🏈😵‍💫🤪✈️ 🙏🏼

Embracing the suck, enjoying the journey and grateful for it all. 💙💙💙💙

When you show up to get a “little extra” workout in on a Saturday during a Winter Weather Advisory but then you quickly realize who you’ve partnered with @cecilydwalker and who you’re set up next to @rehabbinsob so you dig DEEP and find that GRIT so you don’t let your BAD A$$ partner down. At one point as I was legit dying, Cecily yelled out…”THIS IS WHERE OUR BOYS GET THEIR GRIT FROM!!!” …annnd then this happened {see slide 2}.

Get yourself a partner that triggers allllll the good in you and pushes you to your limits on the daily…and then set up next to the boys that are even more competitive than you are. lol We didn’t win on the board but we will certainly take that W for showing up and kicking butt for the girls. 🥵👯‍♀️💪🏼👊🏼🔥

Some Sundays feel like family coming together at Grandma’s house —
only there’s no dinner… and no dishes to clean.

Today was that kind of Sunday 🤍
A little different.
A lot of fun.
Full of smiles, cocoa, and the yummiest cookies.

It felt more like a Christmas party than a regular Sunday morning — and we loved every minute of it. We even celebrated Pastor Reese’s birthday (tomorrow!) with a big cake and a candle just for him to blow out 🎂✨

We’re hoping his birthday wish comes true — because he deserves it.
And a little birdie told us his wish is for every seat to be filled on Christmas Eve.

✨ Join us Christmas Eve at 5:00 PM
✨ And come back Sundays at 10:30 AM

If you’re looking for a place to worship where it truly feels like family, we would love to welcome you home. 🤍

Tonight’s Council meeting ran a little longer than usual as we prayerfully discussed our 2026 budget… but no one was complaining because our Council President’s wife surprised us with homemade cookies! 🍪✨

It felt like a little preview of our upcoming Carols & Cocoa Sunday (December 21) where we’re inviting everyone to bring Christmas cookies to share during fellowship time (donuts take the morning off!). No judging this time — just joyful fellowship and lots of sugar. 😄

And honestly… if there were Cookie Bake Off judging, we’re pretty sure Cecily would walk away with the blue ribbon after tonight’s taste test. 👀💛 thank you @cecilydwalker

Grateful for sweet moments, sweet people, and a sweet church family. 🙏✨

Our church feels a little extra magical this time of year ✨🎄 Inside this reel you’ll catch glimpses of our beautifully decorated sanctuary (big thanks to our Christmas elf, Donna!), smiling faces of all ages, kids coloring, youth playing games, coffee and donuts being enjoyed, and even a few laughs from the sound booth—where Jarrod loves to sneak a UT Longhorn behind our Aggie pastor during the sermon. 😂🤘🐗

We celebrated volunteers who made a big impact this year, and a sweet family lit the first Advent candle of HOPE.

Every Sunday feels like gathering at grandma’s house—warm, joyful, comfortable, and full of people who genuinely care. ❤️

There is a place for everyone here.
Come join us Sundays at 10:30am at Hope Arise. We’d love to welcome you home. 🤍✨
