It was a joy and an honor to work on the telling of this story. It was also incredibly stressful playing a former warden of a concentration camp. But Building the Wall by Robert Schenkken allowed us to explore the humanity behind those we might dismiss as monsters. To try to understand how everyday people with good intentions can become part of a system designed to oppress, imprison, and ultimately kill their neighbors.

Just a privledge to be directed by the legendary @brentbuellnyc and to work along side the talented @cecilylyn. Hats off to our production team AD @becca_conaway SM @m.a.g.a.t.h.a Lighting and assistant SM @e.kruskal Producer @jessiefahay @danthony_photography @pavancarterphotography @urbanstages and the non-for-profit production company @rippleeffectart

Thank you to all the great organizations that spoke at the talk backs.. @thenyic @immdefense etc. (please donate to them if you can)

And to the playwright @rschenkkan himself for joining us for a performance and talkback. Just wonderful hearing his thoughts.

And thank you to the audiences who came out night after night, some traveling very far to be here, to hear a story designed to raise our awareness of the wrongs being committed everyday across the world and how we might fight back by building not walls, but community. Bravo to you!

Finally thank you for all the support from those close to me outside the theater. For being there for me. Your love and support means more to me than I could ever hope to show. Thank you

Let’s keep telling stories that inspire
our shared humanity.

If you haven’t had a chance to see Building the Wall, make plans to go this weekend.

Produced by Jessie Fahay and presented by Ripple Effect Artists, this powerful Off-Broadway production is thought-provoking, timely, and deeply moving. It’s the kind of theater that stays with you long after the curtain falls.

Be sure to stay for the talk-back afterward—the conversations are just as impactful as the performance itself.

You have one final weekend to catch it before it closes on June 21st.

🎟️ Tickets: https://our.show/btw

I’ll also share the ticket link in my stories.

“Art has the power to challenge, inspire, and start important conversations. Building the Wall does all three.”
