Black Sheep 🖤🐑
Rachel Harrison
⭐️⭐️⭐️

@cecyliamarie from @shelfabsorbedpodcast started reading horror, so I started reading horror 🙂‍↔️

Vesper leaves her extremely religious hometown because she doesn’t believe their ideology. After several years absence, she returns to attend a wedding. While there, she reunites with everyone from her past, including her mother (who seems to hate her and is just downright mean? Lol), and, ultimately, learns about family and town secrets.

Okay, don’t get me wrong, this was SPOOKY! But the twist came much earlier than I anticipated (at 49% to be exact lmao), which made the second half of the book feel a little drawn out. I struggled with her mother at the very end - I couldn’t grasp whether she was truly a villain or another victim of the religious…group…lol.

I wish it had been a little more scary, but it roped me enough that I had to find out what happened asap!

Has anyone else read this? LMK your thoughts!

Absolutely surreal to be announcing some season THREE reads. It is not lost on me how special it is to be bringing a third season of a half-kidding text I sent last year.

This season officially kicks off on May 22nd. Yes, in exactly two weeks. New episodes will release EVERY Thursday at 6AM - That’s right babes, this is now a WEEKLY podcast 🎙️🤍

This season will run weekly from May-July. May’s episodes include:
• Nightbitch by Rachel Yoder with conversation around identity loss after becoming a mother and postpartum rage
• I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman with conversation around what makes someone human

Stay tuned for guest reveals and additional release day updates 🪩

Thank you endlessly to the guests, friends, listeners, and mentors that have helped this podcast along the way. Your support means more than you know. Here’s to chapter THREE 🥹📖

Reading connects us to each other and has always been a way to understand the world. Now, more than ever, it’s imperative to uplift, amplify, and support the voices of the trans community - Your stories deserve to be heard.

Last night, I started Ander & Santi Were Here by @jonnyinstas and read until I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore - Feeling it today 🫠😅

Let me know what you’re reading for the @transrightsreadathon below 🏳️‍⚧️🤍
