f I Go Will They Miss Me 🎬 | Trailer Breakdown At first glance, this looked like a familiar father-and-son drama I’d seen before. But the more I dug into it, the more interesting it became. Walter Thompson-Hernández turned his Sundance-winning short into his feature debut, bringing in newcomer Bodhi Dell alongside J. Alphonse Nicholson and Danielle Brooks. What really hooked me is the idea of a young artist processing his life through Greek mythology. This could be something much more poetic and unique than the trailer initially suggests. #IfIGoWillTheyMissMe #MovieTok #FilmTok #Sundance #moviereview

Thank you @goldenhorsefilmfestival. What a week! Couldn’t think of a better way to close out the @luckylufilm festival tour for 2025. Truly grateful to all the festival programmers and crews who screened our film and took care of us this year. I flew to Taipei last August to meet Chang Chen. Three months later he’s on set in NYC, and three months after wrap, we’re premiering in Cannes. A year and three months since that first meeting, I’m back in Taipei buzzing as he accepts his award for Best Lead Actor. Teared up as @charleshumenry walked up for Best Original Score and found myself hugging Ang Lee for Best New Director. Will miss traveling with @nybongiovi @teezy319 @norm_li and the rest of the LL fam. A whirlwind year… Looking forward to sharing Lucky Lu with everyone in 2026 🚲

It’s great to be back to the Toronto International Film Festival to celebrate its 50th anniversary with two of our films, YOU HAD TO BE THERE, and LUCKY LU! Blessed to be working with such an amazingly talented and dedicated cast and crew for both projects. And also to have such generous partners to support us along the way. The tide rises for all 🌊

LUCKY LU premiered at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival for its North America premiere! Based on Lloyd Lee Choi’s short, “Same Old,” “Lucky Lu” is the story of a Chinese delivery driver in New York City who discovers his e-bike has been stolen. With his distant family on the heels of a reunion, Lu, played by Chang Chen, contends with a community that’s turned its back on him while keeping his family afloat. It’s a riveting, touching film that explores the hope and hardships of working-class immigrants.

Excited to head to BFI London Film Festival with LUCKY LU for our UK premiere 🇬🇧 Other photo is what DP @norm_li , 1st AD @lxklein and I usually look like on set. Somewhere between joyfully lost and pondering (I’m probably thinking about lunch). Two collaborators I couldn’t imagine making this film without. See you in London! @luckylufilm @britishfilminstitute On-set photo by our amazing location sound mixer @dennisrainaldi #BFILondonFilmFestival
