A little behind the scenes from my first cover for Metropolitan, Eurostar’s magazine.

We had an early start at the Bourse de Commerce, photographing pastry chef Jean-Julien Freydt inside La Halle aux Grains and around the museum before the doors opened.

The brief was all about the relationship between food, art and architecture, so we wanted Jean-Julien to feel part of the space rather than simply photographed against it. We moved from the Rotonde and its incredible morning light to Fujiko Nakaya’s fog installation as it slowly filled the space around us.

I hadn’t planned on making a BTS from the day, but luckily a few clips were captured along the way, so I couldn’t resist putting them together.

Very happy to share a little glimpse of how it all came together.

Together with @Tesco we’ve reworked 100 of the nation’s favourite recipes to make them more accessible for everyone.

From 100 audio recipes and a Braille cookbook, to BSL cooking content, with even more coming soon. Plus adaptive cooking tools available on Tesco Marketplace. We’re helping more people get stuck into the joy of cooking.

None of it would’ve been possible without the incredible team around us. Just shy of four years since I first walked into Cedar’s office, last week marked my final week.

I feel incredibly privileged to have worked alongside such brilliant clients and creative colleagues – I truly can’t think of a day the team didn’t make me laugh.

I started at Cedar on Tesco magazine before moving to Nikon, where with my team I wrote, commissioned and curated the digital magazine from scratch. I leave having helped published more than 400 articles, as well as several video series and how-to cheat sheets.

Along the way, I became completely immersed in the world of visual storytelling: from a brief stint as a hand model, to taking pictures in a doorless helicopter over London, attending awards evenings, and working with a wealth of ridiculously talented photographers and videographers.

Last year I became editor of Dorchester Collection Legends, exploring what makes the hotelier’s staff tick. I’ve also worked on two annual print issues of Unfold by Mandarin Oriental, and written for Metropolitan by Eurostar, High Life, bahighlife.com, Our BA and The Club – covering everything from hotel and restaurant reviews to destination features, Avios deep dives and quizzes.

What may appear to some as a simple magazine cover represents, to me, the culmination of a team’s work: the early sparks of an idea, insights crunching the numbers, the careful refining of words, and the meticulous art direction that brings it all together.

Next chapter starts tomorrow 🙌

‘It’s like guzzling down some extra virgin olive oil mixed with discarded grape skin vodka. No grass flavour but the oil still rather deliciously clings to your mouth,’ so I’ve been telling my not-quite-convinced friends (and High Life readers) about Southbank’s @lyanessbar Robo Ramos cocktail, where the philosophy is 1+1 = 3 (except when it comes to the bill…).

One thing for sure, though? Sweet is out in 2026, savoury is in🍸
