Performing at Madrid’s Estadio Metropolitano on August 29th for the final stop of The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn European tour, Playboi Carti brought his signature dark, avant garde aesthetic to the stage. Dressed in an all black fit, Carti wore a sleek black durag paired with dark, futuristic sunglasses, a form fitting long sleeve thermal top, and metallic coated wide leg trousers. To complete the look, he rocked a heavy black hooded jacket trimmed with dramatic black faux-fur around the hood and cuffs, alongside a statement, textured black face cover held over his mouth while clutching the mic. The stage lighting cast a dramatic bokeh effect behind him as he commanded the massive stadium crowd, delivering an intense, high octane set before wrapping up the tour’s European run. Send this to a real Opium fan to see if they think this Madrid performance outfit was his best look of the entire tour.

I don’t usually show my face on here, but today marks exactly 10 years since my photography journey began. This is somewhat different from my usual posts, but it felt like the perfect moment to get more personal.

When I picked up a camera a decade ago, I couldn’t have imagined where I’d be. Growing up in a small town, working for festivals and huge artists wasn’t even a thought that crossed my mind. I just knew I was obsessed with photography and wanted to be the best I could be. Now, 10 years later, through persistence and honestly a lot of luck, it’s my full-time job. Although it’s not always as rosy as it seems online, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Photography helped me come out of my shell and explore the world with purpose. I’ve seen incredible places and met fantastic people. I want to specifically thank a few individuals whose small gestures of trust made a massive impact on my life:

Cathy, I can’t thank you enough for getting me on board last minute for FIRE IS GOLD. You trusted me with zero festival experience. FIG was honestly the “real” start of my career.

@d_lavrovski You probably don’t remember, but you recommended me to shoot a small pop-up for @hangarbe .
They’re now a close partner. Without you, that link-up wouldn’t have happened, so I’m forever grateful.

@jacquesbenhadjali When you brought me on to shoot @lesardentes , I’d never shot a festival of that scale. I feel like we’ve grown alongside each other since, and you’re genuinely one of the most enjoyable people to work with. Can’t wait for summer.

@faynakach & @giuseppetresonie Photographing for @oscarandthewolf has been eye-opening. It allowed me to stretch my creative wings, pushed my photography to the next level, and taught me so much about the music industry.

To everyone else I’ve met who brought good energy, and to everyone reading this who supports my work: thank you! <3333

I’m so excited for the future. 2026 is already packed, and summer will be crazy! Anyway, enough sappiness. Here are some pictures of me, mixed with some random early work l’ve never shared.

ps. I’m also turning 28 tomorrow 😊
Love,
-Isaac
