Let’s celebrate Regents’ Professor Rafael L. Bras, who retired after 16 incredible years of service at Georgia Tech and more than five decades as an educator!

💬 “Fifty-one years is a long time, and full of wonderful memories. Most of those memories are related to interactions with students and colleagues and knowing that in small and big ways my efforts made a difference.”

In addition to teaching in @georgiatecheas and @ceeatgt, Bras served as Georgia Tech’s provost and executive vice president from 2010-2020.

Thank you, Professor Bras, for your leadership, service, and lasting impact on Georgia Tech. 💛

As we near the end of our summer internship season, we’re incredibly proud of what these future engineers have accomplished at Shear Structural.

Over the past few months, Quinn, Katie, and Omar have jumped into real projects, tackled new challenges, asked great questions, and grown both technically and professionally. Seeing their confidence build has been just as rewarding as the work they’ve contributed.

Don’t just take our word for it—here’s what they had to say about their experience at Shear Structural.

Thank you for spending your summer with us. We can’t wait to see where your engineering careers take you. 👏

The Structural Engineering and Materials Lab at Georgia Tech is an 18,000-square-foot space large enough to hold six tennis courts. Here, structural engineers have set up labs to conduct research for impact loads on structures, bridge designs, robotics for automative modular construction processes, and more.
